  • Turn 65 ==> Shavlor

Assyrian scribes brought forth troubling news, heralding an extreme drop in power of Wales and Rome. The archbishop is inclined to diseregard the information which appeared on his power chart, but it left him puzzled and intrigued.

Two very odd things in Semi PBEM

      1: The Power chart
2: Both turn 64 and turn 65 I have ended my turn and Jon has 9 plus new buildings and units. Even with rush buying this looks very odd

As far as the power chart I don't know what happened. Maybe Jon can helps us out with the second question.

I can explain exactly what happened to my sudden building explosion.

It was the result partly of the **** up in Burchill's game which I had failed to correct and I now realise meant that I built Granaries and, mainly, City Walls for nothing. I have now sold these, for nothing, and reset the improve.txt. The units were the result of rush builds of military already under construction and the conversion of civil projects in the North, and have to admit near you, to military units to forestall the attack I am about to endure, or initiate, from/against the NA's and prevent you taking advantage of this.

The sudden fall in the ranking of Wales and Rome I cannot explain as you will see no sudden vertical leap has occured in the strength of the Australians has occurred and I have not surpassed the Mayans. Indeed the upward curve of Australian power has followed it's natural path upward.

Whether the change in my military readiness mught have increased my own strength on the PG I have enjoyed no baby boom and or huge fiscal gain, indeed I'm skint.

The buildings were my fault and have been rectified but as for the dip in the Welsh/Roman fortunes I do not know.

Hmmm, methinks the computer has gone mad. I don't know about the Romans, but the Welsh see no reason for their decline in rating, unless of course we were over-rated beforehand. But why the Romans? This makes no sense.

I bring friendly greetings to the Roman people. My diplomats are proceeding to set up an embassy with your nation.

May this be the beginning of a fruitful relationship.

Has a vetinarian arrived to put 'The Beast' out of our misery?

Foul 'Dog of Darkness' why do you continue to spy upon us when you know our citizens are loyal and can smell a Roman from a mile away? The Melbourne atrocity took time to solve and only recently did we uncover you as the guilty party in the outrage at Canberra but there is no question as to the culpability of Rome in this latest infringement of Australian sovereignty!

Augustinium is a sacred Australian Holy Place of pilgrimage and must be guarded by only true servents of the Sainted One. Depart from our City or we shall be forced to use our armies to drive you out.

It seems that the Beast may have met his match. The Welsh nation have raised their military to be prepared. Where our allies go, we must surely follow, and follow we shall.

                    • Hextapul has a new embassy in Rome.

Suprisingly, the casualties were very light. One Phalanx wandered into the city before the orders to attack were given, and paid for there foolishness with their lives. The rest of the army proceeded with caution, and there were no more casualties.

                      Medals were awarded to everyone.

Rome is in joy over the new leadership. The rest of the Roman Empire looks upon the citizens with envy. There are now scattered reports of riots thoughout the rest of the Roman empire.

His Immaculacy would inquire of his neighbours as to the proposed new border arrangements as it is obvious that the unfortunate Roman people cannot be expected look after themselves now that 'The Beast' has been decapitated.

Australia is prepared to play a full part in the arduous task of restoring Law and Order to the shattered nightmare that once the Roman Empire.

Rome has fallen, yet the Welsh Intelligence Service Elect (the WISE) reports that the Roman Empire has taken a huge leap in the rankings, moving straight past their capital conquerers into second place.

The Australians have recieved a momentous boost, the kind you would associate with taking an enemy capital, whilst the Mayans have remained constant.

Welsh fortune has also taken a turn for the better, returning to their previous position.

                            NEWS FROM THE FRONT
A lone Mayan phalanx was set upon by a Roman Musketeer. Emboldened by the victory in Rome, the Mayans managed to defeat the superior(???) arms of the Roman forces.

Perhaps the Romans need to work more on their tactics.

                                Australian Defence Ministry Statement.

We have been able to advice His Immaculacy of our first significant victory against the Primitives. The Southern Fork of our two pronged attack is now clear of resistance and progress should now be rapid.

The Northern Force has as yet encountered no meaningful opposition and therefore it is to be hoped that the two groups will, as planed, be able to merge in 4 Turns time and then enexarably move toward the liberation of Seminole from those worshippers of wooden sticks.

On matters occuring to the South of our lands the Sainted One has declared that Australia is unwilling to commit any troops against 'The Beast' as he is certain that our Mayan Brothers will be more than able to complete their good works without outside interference. We wish them well but can see no gain for Australia in exposing her back to possible betrayal.
