  • U.S. PBEM GAME

Anyone out there in the continental United States that wants to play in a PBEM game? This is for serious players only! Would like to get in at least a turn a day. I realize that there will be times when this is impossible but it is something to shoot for. E-mail me with your time zone, best times for u to play, and nationality u want to be in the game. This game will be played with the latest patch.
One more thing. There are no special rules for this game(i.e. we all agree to be nice citizens and not attack for the whole game type rules).

All the best Blue Max and I hope you get faster turns than what my games are getting!

Thanks Although, I think I have entered the land of the headache All it takes is one or 2 bad apples as we have seen from your 2 games. The bright side is that we have seen who is reliable as well - albeit, for a short time span. The key may be to have less players - maybe 4 or 5 instead of 8.

            Count me in.

Do we get any input on settings(map size, rules, world settings?

            Are you using any mods?

              Gang,
              We now have 5 players:

              Blue Max(Egyptians) pyramid006@aol.com - Indianapolis

              Chris(Phoenicians) chrislynx@yahoo.com - Chicago

              Don(Canadians) deveritt@orc.ca - Ontario, Canada

              Edgar(Germans) edgar3@earthlink.net - Florida

              Mark(to be determined) markbalt@aol.com - Chicago

Please confirm that u r still interested. Once again, if u feel that u will not be able to play a turn a day for the most part - please fess up now and I will find a replacement. I am organizing this but this is OUR game, not my game. COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY FOR THIS TO SUCCEED. If u have to hold the game up for a day or two just let the group know(we will discuss holidays when we reach that juncture).

Think we should stick with the Monkey routine of posting turns on the Apolyton site under the U.S. PBEM thread. This goes for group messages(from any of us) as well.

The only concern on the settings(without hearing from Mark yet) was the map size for 5 players. Chris, why don't we split the difference and set it on huge instead of gigantic?

Once I get confirmation from everyone, the game will begin(I will post the order under our thread at Apolyton). Again, it is with patch 1.2(or whatever the latest one is called). Mark, I don't think pbem is compatible with any of the mods - if it was, I would be game.

One more thing. Was reading on Monkey's threads that people are becoming disinterested or concerned the game was moving too slowly at the start. I hope we all realize that this will be a slow moving ODYSSEY. THIS GAME WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF YEARS TO COMPLETE. And for crying out loud - I hope our games move at a better pace than those 2(of which I am in 1) - or it will take us 5 yrs to finish

              Regards,
              Blue Max

Blue: I didn't get your mass e-mail. But I did get the one after that. I'll confirm, I still want to be in the game. You can make my game name ChrisLynx, that's fine.

That sounds like a good compromise on the map size. Thanks for working with me on it.

I'll check my e-mail later today to see if we have started. See y'all then!

I will be able to play at least one turn a day. I always check my mail around 10pm. Depending on work, i check throughout the day as well.

I also know how slow the begining is, i'm in one of Monkey's games. But i'm still excited, because I know how good the game gets.
