Received 3 from Butch sent 4 to Monkey.

It's difficult to see how we could speed it up, unless we agreed a period of two or three hours of intensive play, irrespective of time zone where we checked our e-mail every 10 mins. or so. Of course this would mean some of us would have to be up in the middle of the night!!!

I would volunteer to be up in the night, as I ‘m a bit of an insomniac anyway.

To be honest I don't really think it's a practical proposition, just an idea.

Is it possible to start a PBEM in a future age, with extra settlers, just like you can in a LAN game?

                turn 4 to robm

Unless someone can make a scenario with all 8 civs having prebuilt cities and certain technologies up to a certain time, i'm afraid we're all stuck with the slow start.

Activision should really incorporate an accelerated start option. Two things I can think of is perhaps playing it at chieftain(which gives you two settlers) and having the map on doughnut world (which allows communication to occur earlier)

Oh yeah and I don't want anyone to ruin their health waiting for a lousy PBEM turn

well, i resent turn 4 to Becky just now, before reading this board. I'm not sure what happened, but it looks like it showed up at Becky's door before I resent anyway.
