  • Sorry BerXpert:

For a while I was keeping close tabs on the postings in the tournament discussion thread. But I forgot to check over the past few days. I'm still interested in playing; guess we'll have to make it another time.

Let me know when your available to play next.

    • Game?

Well? H, when would you like to play our tournament game? I would like to get it over with before the end of the month if possible as October is going to be a bit busy for me.

Ok, I'm back and ready for action. I am hoping to get my game in with Dr. Doom before X-mas.

Is the prize money still there (just incase I win)?

Solver has disappeared from this thread for a long time now so the only prise you will get is satisfaction

I think it was Gavrushka that was putting up the prise money. Hmmm... Anyway, things are going well. I haven't played CTP for several months so it is going to take a bit to dust off the old game. Are any of the CTP players keen on the upcoming release of MoO3?

            • I didn't disappear from the thread, Keygen. The fact that I don't post doesn't mean I'm not present, you know .

However, I did officially see the tournament as dead. We were planning to play all the outstanding number of games, while apparently it's a very small portion of them that has actually been played. And no posts over here for like 6 weeks... oh.

              • Just to assist in clarifying a little...
Gavrushka orignally said he would put up the prize money to be donated to the charity of the winner's choice. When the tournament went south, and most players dropped out, he withdrew that prize (I'm pretty sure). In any case, Solver, I think you ought to declare Yoda as the winner of this tournament without-a-prize. He soundly defeated everyone he played and outlasted the rest. Congrats Yoda!

                • Sorry Solver but having not seen you posting here for a long time even when some (few) posts were flying here led me to presume that you had disappeared from this thread

I agree with Quinns. Yoda is undoubtedly the winner here.

Yoda, I haven't read the details regarding the MOO3 but it sounds quite interesting and I will probably play some multiplayer games there. Since you are available now I might be able to play you a CtP game online in 1-2 weeks from now. Would you be interested?

Yes, I would be interested in getting a game or two in. The next two weekends are out for me, but anytime after that would be good.

                    • How about 14-15 December then?

I would prefer to play at morning but that would force you play late at night. Perhaps I can find some time in the early afternoon and early morning for you.

                      • Point taken!

Congrats Yoda, but no official announcement will follow... officially the tourney has been considered dead, since, I think, early September.

                          • Everyone considers the tournament long dead, I feel it would be weird somewhat to make an official announcement or ask Markos for one...

Besides, the tourney was not completed. It ended, if you see the differece, with Yoda being the best .

                            So cograts again Yoda .

                            • Yoda and other internet friends, I suggest you join the PBEM Challenges! There are a lot of you excellent CTP players who only play internet CTP, and I understand your boredom with how SLOOWWWWW PBEM games are. However, we started the CTP PBEM Challenge Ladder at the same time as this tournament back in April of 2002. Since then we have started 21 challenge matches and finished 9 of them -- all by PBEM only. Because people can play their turns at their convenience, the play is more conducive to global play where people have a variety of schedules, time zones, and jobs. Hope to see you there! http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=59424

Agree with Quinns. Several times, I have played 3-4 or even 5 turns in one day in the same game.
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.
