  • Love Conquers? Part IX.

    Turn to Madrid.

    PDRF Official Statement.

The refusal of the vile Inca dogs to so much as offer an apology is an affront to French honour but the bombardment of my Peacekeeping troops was beyond toleration! Chimbote, along with Paramunga1 therefore have today joined the happy community of the French Republic. The unfortunate people there will soon be provided of proper schooling that they can learn the language of their adopted Motherland.

General Keygen, I fear myself unable to despatch a SotL to collect my people from the Les Palais expedition as you sank the only one in the French Navy's West Coast Fleet. However, I cannot think that an unescorted Transport Ship can cause you any real concern, so deep within Welsh waters, as it could be sent to the bottom at will and you could not think me able to destroy Wales with but Five Units!

Beloved Tomas, I am pleased that our borders have now been settled to mutual satisfaction. France has always regarded maintaining peace and goodwill with all her neighbours as of the greatest importance and that has not changed with the arrival of democracy.

Noble Xenophon, I am glad to see that you are indeed the man of honour I always felt, in my heart, you to be. You may be assured that France will in no way seek to use the temporary Regency in Athens to her advantage. May I take this opportunity to wish you a happy and relaxing vacation away from the corridors of power. Indeed it must be a taxing task to govern a nation so large as Greece!

Chairman Jon, Champion of the Masses.

Whilst dismayed that war has once again reared it's ugly head - it would appear that France was justified in her action against the Inca...

Spain will continue to monitor developments as they are reported and hopes that this skirmish does not develop into a fullscale war!

Xenophon of Greece, Spain is happy that this ugly situation has been rectified and wishes the Greek ruler good weather and a safe trip to this fabled 'Italy' destination... Spain also wishes to take this opportunity to welcome Hexagonian as regent of Greece!

To our Welsh neighbours, Spain does not understand why with such a large choice of land available to build up, Wales chose to build right on the doorstep of Monterey... Surely if the Spanish authorities did not want military units at the very walls of our fair city - other intrusions might also not be welcome! The residents have complained of noxious smoke hanging over the previously tranquil Monterey!

Spain feel that this is a deliberately provocative act especially considering Spain was not consulted first about the possibility of building in a sensitive area. As noted earlier, Spain will not budge from her act of confiscation!

It appears our pleas for peace have fallen on Deaf Ears. It turns out the Saint of France is indeed a Satan!

If war is what France wants, war is what it shall have.

We are appaled that Tomas of the Spaniards feels that the French were justified in thier violent attack against soveirng Incan territory. We hoped that Spain would have joined us in punishing the French dictator for his misdeeds, instead Spain claims that France was justified in their unprovoked invasion?

Our ships were merely patroling the sea in front of our port, what crime have I commited by wanting to defend my own land? These actions clearly show France to be the aggressor nation. We have not fired a single shot at France yet.

We urge Spain and Greece to help the Incas fight off the French invaders, for in the long run it is you who will loose the most.

        "Tomas,

According to our border agreement these two tiles you are refering to are Welsh territory! I had proposed those borders and you had accepted them if you remember. What are you telling me now? That I don't have the right to build improvements within my own land?!? So what if they are built next to your city? What's the problem? Is a farm and a minning a threat to you? The fisheries you have built next to Ferryside doesn't seem to bother me but the improvement I built next to Monterey seems to have greatly upset you. Why? Do you want to exploit them instead as you city grows bigger? Well, I am thinking of building a farm near Cardiff next turn. Do I have your permission?

The fact is that two cavalry units are standing within Welsh tiles, next to a Welsh city and on 1500 gold value improvements blocking the production output of a Welsh city and leading to starvation another one.

And a new problem's arrising in our northern borders. You had agreed to let me settle those swamp areas before the flood. I had even terraformed two tiles and had sent a settler there waiting for the terraforming to be completed before building a new city. But the flood killed the settler but not the improvements. Now I detect Spanish movement in that area preventing Welsh units to move there.

What's happening Tomas? Should I alert myself? Do you wish to re-arrange our borders at free will?

Regarding the French-Incan dispute I wish a quick arrangement between Paris and Cuzco and an ending to the war.

        St Jon,

You may send a transport but without an escort. First, before the transport is permited to approach you have to disband the city of Le Palais."

A short message from Greece tonight:

It is our great hope that peace can return to this world. I will hopefully see one more cycle go by before I leave, and perhaps in that space of time it is possible for the dove of peace to be embraced by all nations...?

General Lung sits back on his Banana chair on his back porch, takes a sip of his 15 year old single-malt scotch, puts on his new reading glasses which he needs in his twilight years, and has a read of the morning paper. War. Yet again, the world has descended into the darkness of war. Again! It seems that the various egos of the world at each others throats once more

Alas, peace is a fleeting thing!

            Now, where's my scotch?

Occasionally i rear my ugly head up from exile to see what my friend in the alternate universe is up to, and it's the usual propagation of propaganda i see! What a surprise

Just letting you guys know that the world's most notorious mercenary is still around, and is still young enough to consider offers to lead any of the various armies of the world into glorious battle against their foe of choice

Too tragic a day for role-play.

I can only express my deepest sorrow to Mustansir and Rick for the horror committed today upon their nation.

                  Jon.

                      Hi guys,

                      Thanks for the concern.

I checked in here to take my mind off what's happening for a while.

It's so horrible...it's all happening right outside our window... we can see everything from our apartment as we have (or should I say had) a direct view of the World Trade Center...the smoke is unbelievable...the sirens screaming..our windows are closed to keep out the thick smoke...

My wife was voting in the NYC mayoral primary election next door to our apartment, or else she would have been at work when it happened...the WTC is right NEXT DOOR to her office...the North Tower of the WTC collapsed ON HER BUILDING (we keep seeing it fall on her office on CNN). People in our apartment building work in the WTC. All those poor poor people in that building...

It is a great shock for the entire world what happened today in the United States.

I hope the responsible pay a high price though this won't do any good to the deceased...

In Greece, we prepare for the transfer of power to the legendary Hexagonian.

Conferences have preceded this temporary transition so that the policies of Greece can continue smoothly, and without interruption.

It should be noted that Greece remains a nation at peace. We hope we can return to find the rest of the world in a similar position...
