That which you forget is that dear old Dr Johnson included all contemporary words and did indeed delve back into the mists of time. It can hardly be regarded as unreasonable that the High Saxon of Geoff 'a yard of mead' Chaucer should have failed to be adopted when it was deficient in alphabetic count alone.

Please do remember that, whatever Microsoft may say, there is no such thing as 'American English'! This persistent, nay constant, abuse of the humble 'z' might be amaZing, I had long since realiSed it but had felt it unfair upon a backward people to criticiSe them for it, stands as a case in point. The appalling habit of truncating perfectly simply and harmless words 'through' an allergy to 'OUGH' is another example but the list really could just go on and on.

As a shining example of diplomacy, the Spanish will not allow themselves to be dragged into this maelstrom of disagreement and name calling...

Suffice it to say that the whole of Spain is in mourning for the sudden obsolescence of two of it's most prized wonders...

It is unfortunate as although the Dinosaur Park has already posted profits in excess of 1000 gold this cycle alone, it will do little to offset a huge operating shortfall throughout Spain!

Unfortunately, production will have to be maximised in the coming turns in a bid to build more revenue earning establishments throughout the World's foremost Empire - just as well that this 'global warming' is all a load of 'hot air'...

Apologies, I thought the Thread had vanished hence the spurious 'What the........' Post.

Anyway - Why yet another delay Keygen?

Turn 152 --> Comrade Thor (turn sent about 1 1/2 hours ago...the thread vanished for me, too)

While Greece congratulates Spain on the completion of their Dinosaur Park, we must reluctantly demur at the invitation to come "pet the T-Rex". We already saw that Speilberg movie!

Greece cannot comment on the exclamations of outrage from both France and Wales, as neither party has made it clear where the French city in question lies...

              turn to Jon

              --------

We have carefully considered the claims of both the French and the Welsh and have come to the decision that Welsh is acting unnecessarily aggressive and unyielding.

As far as our knowledge of International law goes, it is not a crime or an offense to establish a colony upon free unclaimed land. If the Welsh did claim that Island, then why had they left it unsettled and their intentions unannounced? For our part, there are no records that demonstrate to us that the Island is Welsh territory.

Therefore we urge the Welsh to reconsider their position and to abstain from any further aggressive action against the innocent French colonists. To back our words up, we have decided to reposition two Armed Divisions from the Incan Marine Core at our border with Wales. Another 2 divisions have been despatched to act as reserves should the Welsh decide to resort to violence.

In all other matters Our nation shall remain neutral as we favour neither the Welsh nor the French, however we will not standby and allow the massacre of French colonists onfounded territorial claims. Any further act of violence against the civilians will constitute breach of international law, and will be a punishable war crime. Rest Assured, we will spare no effort in enforcing it.

We call upon the two superpowers, Spain and Greece to join us in condemning the Welsh attacks against innocent people.
              King Thor

                Turn to Madrid.

The Holy Land continues upon it's constant path to purity and spiritual enrichment. Peace reign's over all and My Love brings boundless joy to those fortunate enough to be touched it's aura.

On sordid political matters, Dearest Xenophon I am not moved to regard the deployment of a Spy so close to Arbois as a friendly gesture.

                Blessings My Children,
                St Jon, Constancy amidst Infidelity.

Spanish production has been increased by 50% to address the income shortfall being experienced by the loss of the London Exchange - this will be a temporary matter.

Spain would like to protest in the strongest terms about the large modern army that France appears to be amassing on her borders with Spain, and close to Wales - Spain will not allow her territory to be used as a conduit for aggression, French or Welsh!

Kindly turn back your transports now!

                    Turn 153 --> Comrade Thor

Seemingly, the world teeters on the edge of war, as reports of new tensions filter into Athens.

It appears that King Thor is privy to more information than we have access to in Greece. Without knowing the position of the city in question, we cannot make a statement regarding blame or innocence in the matter. Reconnaissance photos of the area would go a long way toward clearing up the matter, if any nation should wish to supply them.

                    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rest easy, St Jon...our spy is merely out stretching his legs, well within the city limits of Meteora. Therefore, you have nothing to concern you...

                    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A new style in Greek architecture brings mixed reviews from the critics.

New state-of-the-art fishing and mining techniques have passed initial beta tests with flying colours, and will now be adopted by these industries as the standard to follow. However, their great expense means that they will have to be brought into service slowly...

                      Turn to Madrid.

                      Beloved Children,

I hesitate to criticise my dearest of all neighbours, he who I think of as nothing less than a brother, Tomas of Spain but I do feel that he has been misled by one of his underlings. Beloved friend, I beg of you, consult your maps yourself rather than trust some pro-Welsh scoundrel in your civil service. Large modern French Army! France has no such thing and still less the ability to despatch it overseas. What you see is but a small band of Citizen's Militia who have taken up arms to defend their fellows beseiged in Les Palais. None shall enter Spanish territory, or even Spanish territorial waters, but to ease your concerns the point of muster has been shifted north to St Tropez. Surely you would not have them turn their backs upon their brothers and sisters in their darkest hour?

                      Blessings Upon You All,
                      St Jon, Tranquility amidst Turmoil.

Sorry for the problems I have caused but I had emailed Swissy to sub me and he responded a bit late, 2 days after while I was on the boat to Paros (a Greek island) . I am back now and ready to take my turns. Tomorrow and at weekends until September I might not be able to play my turns so send the turns to Swissy ( markbalt@aol.com) also.

                        ============

"The King has recovered from his illness and he is back to his duties. The incident let some important issues in the "air". I shall send my most recent maps to the Greeks as soon as possible. The Incans are well known of our lands due to a map gifting a while ago after the end of our short war and know exactly where Llangollen resides and that the island where the French built Le Palais is within Llangollen's radius. Besides the Spanish had speaked of a French act of war indirectly.

I cannot understand the Incans stance but if their reaction has something to do with our army near our borders they are for my own protection and be assured that they do not target any of my northern neighbors. Besides why the Incans should care for a Welsh-French dispute? From my experience with the French "diplomacy" all I can assume is that Paris might have conviced the Incans to released a suprise attack in my north and both proceed to an extended and total war with Wales to share between them my lands. It is well known that St Jon wishes a bigger piece in the world pie and will do what ever is necessary to fulfil his corrupted plans starting by building the city of Le Palais knowing my reaction and presenting himself as a victim to mislead the other nations to actions that would serve French interests.

A last warning to the French. Disband the city of Le Palais and I shall forget your offensive action and make peace with you. I do not wish any further continuance of this war but a necessary condition is to disband your city. If not then I shall forced to siege it and destroy any unit that might be spoted near the area. The war will be constrained in the surrounding waters of Le Palais and last until is disbanded or besieged. I shall not operate on your mainland unless you do the same."

                        King of Wales Constantine

In the name of progress, Spain will maintain utmost neutrality regarding any external disputes - as long as others do not plot to involve her by force of arms...

                            OUT OF TURN.

                            Beloved Children,

Let it be known that France has never sought War with any nation. Colonial expansion is alien to the Gallic 'Vivre la Vie' attitude and My Holy Teachings.

I ask that all World leaders consider the facts.

                            1. France has never raised her Readiness from 'Stand-Down'.
                            2. France has never fired, or even threatened to fire, a shot in anger.
                            3. Had the colonisation of Les Palais been the precursor to invasion pretended by Wales then surely more than a solitary SotL, with Settler embarked, would have been despatched.
                            4. If War were France's desire then why would she have waited until global peace had arrived before embarking on this course rather than attack amidst the confusion of a long and bloody conflict?
                            5. A sizeable Military is usually regarded as helpful, if not essential, when waging War but France does not possess an Army at all!

France is the victim of a callous attack upon her by a larger and more scientifically advanced nation. I thank Chairman Thor for his kind words of support in this time of trouble for my people and would hope that all others will join in his condemnation of an unprovoked attack upon an entirely peaceful nation.

It should be noted that not only was this barbaric act committed in contravention of an extant Peace Treaty but that it has also gone without any form of retaliation. French guns remain silent!

I plead with you King Constantine, my errant child, to come to the negotiating table, without gun in hand, so that we might settle our differences away from the glare of publicity.

                            Blessing be upon you all,
                            St Jon, Truth amidst Falsehood.

The world worries as it appears that King Constantine has had a relapse of the ailment that caused his prior disappearance . The concern among his subjects can be heard in Greece, from distant Wales.

Even more alarming are the reports that the world is but 9 cycles away from some sort of disaster! Spain appears to be the worst culprit, and we urge you, Señor Torquemada to take BIG steps to reduce your pollution, lest the world judge you an environmental criminal! Lives are at stake here!
