    Update:

    6. Chlg 6 TheBirdMan vs. Lung; Started Aug-2002 – On hold.

Turn 195: Lung has asked for a hold for about 2 months. That’s was granted.

    25. Chlg 25 Mathemagician vs. TheBirdMan; Started Nov-2002 -- In progress.

Turn 201: The Dornheimers defence points are now under control of the WAF (Wiking Armed Forces) serving their glorious nation PDRS (Peoples Democratic Republic of Scandinavia).
The barbarian nations of Scotland and France are both close to annihilation. A great taskforce of marines have broken the Scottish lines and the Wiking fighters are killing every Scottish units, who dares come into the open. France is nearly conquered as it was so unlucky to be squized between PDRS and Dornheim – and because I needed their cities to hide my tanks for the eyes of the Dornheim sattlites.

    42. Chlg 42 TheBirdMan vs. Hatschy; Started Feb-2003 -- In progress.

Turn 194: My nation of Native Americans have finally started their war against the evil enemy. For a long time, my nation have builded up, just waiting for the orders to attack. It came yesterday.
20 bombers have unleased their cargo, more than 20 artillery and navyships have bombarded the enemy. 7 full-manned marine divisions was placed in a long frontline, supported by 2 division of tanks plus a large number of fighters was ordered to move north. Two nukes (one placed by a spy) weres released over selected cities.
The enemy made a counterattack with more tanks than expected – but I expect the attack can be continued as large reinforcements are coming in by ships and by air all the time.

    45. Chlg 45 TheBirdMan vs. Mieciofok; Started Feb-2003 -- In progress.

Turn 117: My Korean nation continues to “explore” my human neighbour.

    46. Chlg 46 TheBirdMan vs. ricketyclik; Started Mar 2003 -- In progress.

Turn 157: My Scottish nation is still doing well – Rickety’s nation is too far away (yet) - guess I have to wait until modern age before we really “meet” each other.
So to have some “fun” I am fighting the nearest Ai-nation, which now is contributing to the growth of my nation. So far 2 cities are conquered and more will come in the near future.

    52. Chlg 52 david42one vs. TheBirdMan; Started Apr-2003 -- In progress.

Turn 79: Though nothing hot is going on here yet, the pure size of David’s nation shows me, who is going to win this challenge.

    53. Chlg 53 CheckMate vs. TheBirdMan; Started Apr-2003 -- In progress.

Turn 113: I have (still) control over the strategic cities between my and Jeffreys nations and I think I can hold the cities for a while.
Therefore I am going to hunt the slaving AIs and press them back while I am waiting for the next attack from Jeffrey.

Chlg 57 Azreal vs. TheBirdMan; Started Jan-2003 -- In progress.

Turn 58: Repeating my information from last time:
Funny starting position - a little island nearly as a square. Have just made some triremes - going for more land to explore/settle.
The island is now settled and I have started to colonize another island. I have a peaceful neighbour – very fine. As far as I can see, Stephan has found his AI-neighbour – a slaver type unfortunately……
First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

actually its not a classical ranking points system. its just a ladder, meaning if you beat no.1 you are instantly number 1 yourself...
now you just need to come close enough to challenge number 1. you may legally challenge a player who is not more than 3 positions higher than you.

                      Blue History]

Map is realy great, both civs (blue and orange) start on a long river on forest but very close each other (20-25 tiles of distance)

I always think blue have a little advantage over orange because it have good ruins with 2 phalanx 1 samurai and 1 settler.

In particular, my blue civ got the settler ~10 turns before Quinns because I found my capital more at south than him, that let me have almost always the double of his population.

Being more at south I was more close to his orange, so my explorers reach his main land earlier than in the other world. I mean, his orange civ worry about defence before my orange civ . I could build more settlers while he build warriors to defend.

With my (blue) advantage of 1 settler ~10 turns before him I take the risk to build a wonder = Stone Henge which gives me at the end biger cities = more production.

I went directly to Agricultural Revolution and start building samurais when I start feeling panic in orange world (read orange history), my strategy here was to build musketers and cavalry and start the attack maybe in 30 turns from now (6 for muskets and 10 for cavalry 15 moves of distance with roads).

Knowing that he was far from ag revolution I start building Chichen Itza to help me in my science and production lost due crime, it was useless

At the end I had a my units at the border waiting for him to attack, not much blood in this game I think.

                      Orange History

I think the best game was at my orange side, because I know I had 1 settler of disadvantage. I put my bet on my blue civ so my strategy here was to defend as long as I can.

Orange had 2 AI's as neigbourg but friendly.

I sent a slaver to watch blue military activity and noted a big road with a lot of samurais in path to my land. I send all I have (not much I must said) to the mountains where his samurai movilization want to enter into my land.

I think what let me survive here was that I had more cities, so in some time of the game I got more units than him.

After ~5 turns of battle and ~20 units lost of both sides I could manage to capture the mountains and protect the road to my land. Looking into his turn I noted why he resign, his 18 samurais were too far from the border and his closer city was at ~3 turns of my stack of 9 with 4 units to defend.

If I start an early attack or just wait and hold my defence my blue civ could have that 30 turns I said I need to start sending musketers and cavalry to finish the game.

                      Final note

I know the history is written by the one who wins but I want to said it was too early to him to resign.

                      Great game quinns

BTW I attach his last turns so you can take a deep look of what I said here.

Thanks, berXpert. I got a slow start in both games. For my Blue it was as berXpert described, and for my Orange it was because my third settler, unescorted, ran into his scout phalanx so I had to disband it.

My only chance to win was to launch an early attack in the hopes berXpert was building temples and granaries and ignoring his military -- but he wasn't. So my Blue preemptive strike (about 30 samurai) ran straight into his counter attacking samurai (about 30 to 40 I believe). berXpert's Orange team had an early warning from that DAMNED slaver who blew his loud horn before I slaughtered him! Needless to say my attack failed and my chances to win disappeared after that because both of his civilizations were much more economically sound than mine. I had went for all military early on so my city structure was weak. At least I scared him a little! Great game berXpert!
