  • Turn 173 to Don. Further to talking to myself, i'm now starting to get turns mixed up. Is Lung losing the plot? Did he ever mave it?

    • Finally the stalemate has been broken!

Glorious Australian Musketeers marched into Caeserea after a master stroke of strategy by General Lung Caeserea, virtually impregnable from a direct assault, turned out to have it's Achilles heel when Australian troops stormed onto it's underside from ships-of-the-line, cutting off Caeserea's access to vital reinforcements. Roman troops held off the first wave, but were overwhelmed by the second wave of Aussie troops.

I think it's fair to say that the city had a caeserean section!!!

Meanwhile, a two-pronged attack on the great Roman capital, Rome (go figure ) was underway. It seems that Donicus didn't see the second, and larger, prong coming from the west, as Rome was soon beseiged as Caeserea was being invaded. Rome has since fallen and the once mighty Roman military machine is divided and in tatters

Now that the conquest of two major Roman cities has opened up the Roman front into many, is this the beginning of the end for Rome and Donicus? I, for one, certainly hope so

      • ROME HAS BEEN LIBERATED!!!

Little did General Lung know that not one, but two entire divisions of Roman troops lay in waiting to counter-attack! The first wave was bravely repelled, but the second proved too strong, so Rome returned to Roman hands

Curse Donicus the cunning!! Victory will be MINE, damn you!!

        • Fighting continues in the hinterland north of Caeserea, with a former Roman city nowhere to be seen! A settler was seen fleeing to the north, so he was hunted down and killed. Didn't he know that Australia doesn't like refugees? Okay, so when were my jokes ever in good taste?

A fort outside the now northern-most Roman city was destroyed and the city is now under partial siege. Can Donicus send reinforcements in time? Can Donicus resist the mighty Lung? Does anybody give a rat's arse??

          • Rome has been unliberated!!! Australian fascist hordes overran the poorly armed defenders, but only after the first wave was repelled by Donicus' layoal troops.

Two further divisions of Roman troops submitted to the might of Australia, as Australian fascists (Hansonites, if you will ) ran riot on the plains south Caeserea. The struggling Roman empire is nearly cut in two, and Roman outposts seem to be losing their fortified troops as they desperately seek to quell the fascist tide.

Donicus will pay dearly for his mercy towards our incompetent adversaries Show no mercy, Don! Certainly, i shall show none

            • Pompeii falls into Australia hands!!!

With another Roman division also getting the sword, Roman defences are starting to look threadbare! The Roman empire is now split in two, and the fascist hordes are dispersing to all corners of the Roman empire. The only question is - where is the mighty Donicus hiding his army? The expected legendary Donicus outflanking manouvre has yet to materialise. Or has it?

The slow ebb tide towards Australian dominance has become a flood, and very soon the Roman army will be overrun with nary a stronghold left

              • ROME REVOLTS!!!

The capture of the Roman capital (why would anyone choose Pompeii as a capital? Talk about inviting disaster ) has sent the Roman empire into revolt, with most of the more prosperous cities calling themselves "Welsh" after the mythical Celtic war god Mobius

The naive Welsh were easy pickings for the battle-hardened Australian Fascists, which captured four Welsh cities with a minimum of fuss. All that is left of Rome is a few outlying cities hidden in swamps. Victory shall be ours!!!

Don, didn't you know that when your cities revolt, they are generally very easy to liberate? I don't know how many you left in them, but there weren't many when i came a knocking

                  • Actually, i was trying to post for Mobius' sake, but i'm just glad for anyone apart from myself to be posting here.

I just like keeping this thread open for all of the funny comments made over the last year or so by the likes of Don and Blackice, although it seems Don has had well and truly enough of my ramblings

                      • My thread's back!!!

Thank you, Markos! I want to have your baby

Donicus is committing his people to suicide! How else can one explain the disappearance of so many Romans?

                        • R.I.P. Donicus the Brave Turn 204

Don's last city of defiance has defied for the last time. After moving thousands of troops towards Don's last city, an Australian spy decided to revolt the city (presumably in order to get a free run of the local pubs ), successfully did so, causing a great Lung victory in the process!

With Rick dropping out of the semis, it looks like i get to bash Don once more

                          See you in hell, dude!
