    Proposal for a Quickstart 3 settlers for Apolyton Pack

    - 3 super settlers (10 movements, vision range increase by one)
    - 1 Super Horse Archer (15 movement, vision range 2), replace by a normal one at turn 3
    - 1 Super Transport (15 movement, vision range 3, can carry 3 units), replace by a normal one at turn 4
    - 3000 Gold
    - 2000 PW

    Moreover, the first city created by each player autogrow to size 3 if build before turn 3 and have a new good at the build location; the second and third city will grow to size 2. All cities will have a Phalanx.

    What do you think ?

      PN, adding gold and public work isn't hard through Slic code but controlling which advances will be granded and which won't might be a problem. Another solution would be merging the "DiffDB.txt" of Apoyton Pack with the "DiffDB.txt" of PBEM Mod Lite just in the scenario folder where the mod will reside.


      I'm working on this merge. It's very easy, but I'm just a bit busy at the moment.

        I created a beta scenario with 3 settlers. You could download it here

        Bellow a short description:
        - 3 super settlers (movement 7, vision range increase by one)
        - 9 advances (the first 9 advances: 0-8)
        - 3000 Gold, 2000 PW
        - 1 Super Horse Archer (movement 12, vision range 2), replace by a normal one at turn 3
        - 1 Super Transport (movement 10, vision range 3, can carry 3 units), replace by a normal one at turn 4
        Moreover, the first 3 cities created by each player autogrow to size 3 if build before turn 3 and have a new good at the build location

        Tomorrow or the day after I will work on advance choice. I will also reduce the turn# on which super units are replace by normal one.

            I'm looking for a deputy for me (I don't want to drop out)if this game starts before 27 May (which I hope it does) until 13 May. Also if anybody waiting for this game to start wants to deputise for me on Strife, Fixed Game, High Voltage and/or Aint No Fun whilst I'm on honeymoon between 27 May and 13 June, please email me.

              I've volunteered to moderate this game. This leaves us with the following players:

              Nuke Boy
              PN
              Gavrushka
              Saddam
              Jafo

              If we use slamp's Apolyton Quick Start (3 or 5 settlers), we can start now. If you want to wait for Keygen's quick start to be adapted to the Apolyton Pack, we will have to wait.

              When started this game will be known as Crimson Sky.

                  Besides I just remembered that you where one of the original players who supposed to play here but I guess you prefer to moderate it, right?
                  Saddam had resigned from playing in this game and Jafo as far as I know haven't been asked if he wants to join this game. Have you invited him or someone else?

                  Crimson Sky? Not bad at all. Another name has been proposed. We will see in time what will be its name .

                          OK, here's a version of Keygen's PBEM Mod Lite for the Apolyton Pack. Anybody want to give it a test? It contains a README.TXT that describes what you need to do to install it.

                            OK, I tested the mod and it looks mostly good.

                            For those that don't know, you get at start:
                            • 12,000 gold
                            • 5000 PW
                            • 3 super settlers
                            • Nine advances
                            • Three caravans

                            Each super settler has 10 mp. The first super settler produces a pop. 3 city with capitol, a mounted archer, two phalanxes, and a regular settler. The other two super settlers produce a pop. 2 city with two phalanxes, 1 warrior, and one regular settler. Note: If you turn a lost tribe into a city before using all three super settlers, that city will be pop. 1 and have no units. In addition, your 3rd supersettler will also only produce an empty pop. 1 city.

                            Eight of the advances are common: agriculture, toolmaking, mining, domestication, bronze working, stone working, shipbuilding, and religion. The ninth is random -- I saw writing, monarchy, and geometry as a ninth advance.

                            You cannot launch your turn by opening the file in your email app or by double-clicking on the file on your desktop. You must create a folder in ctp_program:ctp:save:games and save the file there. Then start the game, choose Single Player and Load Game. When you hit the End turn button, the file will appear on your desktop.

                              A very good explanation Dugrik

                              In fact the amount of gold you start with depends on the difficulty level. But public works is always 5000. Maybe we should reduce this because in Apolyton Pack, the PW needed for roads is reduced by 25%

                              Also, in Apolyton Pack, the mounted archer has one less movement tile per turn, but an extra tile visibility range, which is an interesting difference.

                                To change the public work open "scenario.slc" with a text editor and change the value of the line "SetPW(g.player, 5000);" to something else like 4000.
                                But 5000 PW is still good IMO .
