  • Oh Glory be unto me!

This Holy time has brought forth a spiritual manifestation of the long departed 'Faceless One'! Long was it felt that his reluctance to show himself was due to a deceitful nature but now having seen with my own eyes his apparition I realise it was only embarressment at his own visage. Be not ashamed dear departed Hextupal for not all can be as beauteous as I and my love is given freely and without concern for extremes of physical ugliness. You had no reason to fall upon your sword for fear of offending me and I would have still permitted you to kiss my ring.

    Love unto All.

    St Jon, Light amidst Darkness.

    • Oh Great Spirit of Hextapul! You grace us with your apparition. We hope that we meet with your approval in the running of the great Incan nation that you started.

But please set the record straight for St. Jon. For as you remember, we begged you to sacrifice yourself when the gods fell with disfavor upon our people. But you refused, and instead went kicking and screaming to the fire mountain where you were thrown into the liquid fire abyss (sorry).

      • Turn 62 to Quinns

The fruit trees of Greece have begun blossoming in happiness (in December!) as word that a Peace Treaty has been signed with France! We look forward to a constructive and friendly relationship with St Jon.

Would that the same good feelings eminated from the Barbarians. But Greek cavalry engaged them again this day, and again another Barbarian will threaten us no longer.

Early congratulations to Spain for what will surely be a most impressive achievement! But we do hope that this "telescope" will not be used to peer at fair Greek maidens as they bathe. (Wait, I'm getting a feeling of deja vu!).

With all this "Peace" talk, I'm sure Breaker Morant is thoroughly disgusted! I'm thinking of downgrading to "Stand By" just to really make him upset!

            Ever the witty One!

Looks like you have everything in control, Quinns!

Oh 'tis indeed a Merry Yuletide with Peace Treaties with all my Brothers and Sisters signed and sealed. How can it be in such a World of Bliss that any should have need to remain 'At Alert'?

I do feel the needst' so ask my Beloved Friend Xenophon as to why after his diatribe against iniquitous Technical Trading that he should feel it fit to offer my humble flock a Level 5 Advance for a Level 6? It is impossible for me to feel other than love for you but still indulge an aged Saint with the logic there within?

With Granaries full and fields fertile the 'Holy Land' is indeed a beauteous place. There remain many heretics to root out but this provides the congregation with all the entertainment they couldst' desire. Though the magical 'Spanish Horse' has gone down well in Paris and Tours the more conservative disciples in Strasburg and Rennes still enjoy to listen to the cries of joy from those broken upon the wheel whilst the old favourites, flaying alive and hanging drawing and quartering, will never go out of fashion.

Love and Blessings Upon You All,

May your Berries Grow Ripe and Plump,

St Jon, Justice in a World of Inequity.

              • St Jon, let me answer your question now, although I speak "out of turn".

Although I have no use for that which you offered me in trade, as I already have it, I did not want you to find but a lump of coal in your Xmas stocking, so I offered a substitute, which I had hoped you would desire.

But if knowledge is not something that you wish to bring to your people, that is your choice. I will not attempt to foist my own values of truth and enlightenment upon those who do not seek it!

In any event, may you, and all the people of our world, enjoy their own particular holidays, as practiced through your own unique customs!

                Xenophon, the jolly

                • I must defend my good friend Xenophon on this one St Jon, though I mean no disrespect by it. I would think that Agricultural Revolution (a level ONE advance) is much more valuable than Stone Working (a level TWO advance). So, unless I completely misunderstood your above discussion about unequal trades in regards to LEVELS, I am at a loss to your criticism of Xenophon's trade offer.

After a final session of alcoholic indulgement over the festive period, the people of Wales prepare themselves for a sobering New Year, in which attempts will be made to reach an even playing field with the rest of the world.

                      • Your damned right quinns... All this peace is starting to depress me. Christmas is after all a time to be sharpening your sabres, cleaning your barrels, fondly reminising over foes vanquished and bringing hope to your heart for battles in the future.

                          Esteemed Breaker Morant,

Having established your Embassy with us, we know that your Diplomat will be eager to return home from his travels.

Wil he now return to Australia by the same route by which he came to us, or would you rather that we grant one of those famous "express tickets"?

Oh how I love you all my Brothers and Sisters! A lowering of Military Readiness from the 'Mythical Ones' and yet another fruitful exchange of knowledge with my Brother of the Cloth.

My dearest Xenophon, please accept my humble Map Exchange so that we may at last settle all future border disputes before they even arise.

All all is well in the 'Holy Land' and the largest ever single mass execution of Heretics has been scheduled for New Years Eve. Horse, Wheel and Pyre have all been prepared as well as many a 'hung drawn and quartering' arranged.

The hymns in my praise will be heard in Cardiff!

                              Blessed be my Name,

                              Love to All,

In one masterful stroke, the darkness of the night sky has been lifted as Gallileo's Telescope was pointed aloft for the first time...!

Indeed the spectacle is wonderous - gazing at the black velvet of God's constellation picked out by the brightly shining diamonds of the stars...

Spain's Scientists have been spurred onto a greater quest for knowledge already, such as determining the true type of cheese that the moon is made of, and just who built the canals of Mars?
