  • Government positions

The largest problem we have with the CtPDG is the smallish size of our community. We're not in the league of Civ III community size, if you know what I mean.

Also, every democracy game has a president (who physically plays the turn) and ministers (who give polls to the people and recommend what the president should do)

This thread should be used for discussing what ministers we havem and how many (which I hope is a small-ish number)

    Go nuts.

I am announcing my desire to run for a minister position. When we figure out what positions there will be, I will chose which one I wish to run for.

Please send campaign contrabutions to this forums
Also, one night stay in the Lincoln Log Room is $100
So one guy turns to another guy and says "T.A.I." His friends says "What?" He responds by saing "Think about it;)"

Would you mind if I stole the CtP2DG FAQ which was stolen from the ACDG and the CivIII DG

Here's a rough draft. Much discussion is needed, I will probably have a few improvements of my own, but it's a basis to start discussions from...

            President/Grand Apolyton
            - The only person who actually physically plays the game
            - Distributes the savegames
            - Organizes turnchats and communiticates with the members in other ways
            - Organizes new elections
            - In charge of in-game 'government affairs' (government type, location of the capital)
            - Naming of cities
            - Has the decisive vote in case no decision can be reached on certain issues (maybe a right to veto certain decisions?)

            Minister of Domestic Affairs
            - Responsible for City Management
            - Sets Domestic Policies (Worday, Rations, Science, etc)
            - Controls the Imperial Expansion agenda (where to found new cities, what to do with conquered cities)
            - Conducts diplomacy with other Empires

            Minister of Infrastructure
            - Responsible for Infrastructure (PW)
            - Determines what advances to research
            - Responsible for all (national and international) Emperial Trade

            Supreme Commander
            - In charge of Army, Navy and Airforce (as well as all unconvential units)

            Do we need a Court?

No, of course not. I was actually considering to post it here myself, but I'll leave it to you then...

Thanks much Locutus, a real help

Yes, a judiciary is needed, but we can leave that until we get the other hopeful citizens here.

                I'll draft the FAQ now.

ooh, would it be a conflict of interest to be a part of three governments at once?

Of course we need a court. I like locutus' suggestions, except that the pres shouldn't have to post elections. just playing the game and managing his cabinet is hard enough. let the court do elections. I also say give the president mod powers(topping, locking, etc)

I think enough discussion has been placed on the map. Now it should be time for the ministers and such. Unless there is a change to the above mentioned ministery positions, I nominate myself for the Minister of Domestic Affairs.

                          I second Nimrod's nomination.

I nominate myself for Minister of War.

Hmm, I have the feeling formulating the Constitution could be a really fast process for this game

This was on the assumption that there would not be a Court. If there is, I agree the Court should do elections, obviously...

Those 4 positions seem to be the way to go, IMO.

Well, I suppose we could begin a poll sonn
