Even in the crossbow plan, foxtrot doesnt really need a crossbow. Upgrading one wont cut our options.

I dont think they would go for the killing field, though. They know we have HBR, they should have guys checking that angle and see they are vulnerable on grass with only 1 spear, surely they will stick to the rough in any case

You would think. But, there's been a lot of stuff I would have thought they would do smarter.

They know we have HBR, but have not SEEN horse archers. Let alone in numbers. Their very unit construction suggests they're expecting us to field large infantry forces, not mounted forces.

I ran a few worldbuilder tests, and it seems your right about the HA killing field-ussualy 1-2 HA die but the stack will be easily eliminated otherwise.

I hold all judgements in suspense until the arrival of the next turn

Still they have a very viable offense to take FS for example, within a DG so much time for planning exists, it seems impossible to drop the ball so badly. Have i been reading to much ability into their moves? I fully expected more reinforcements to show up on the turn load, the only question was why the strange force disposition and movements.

We might want to get researching on literature again since the attack timeline has in even the worst case been delayed(not so pressing now). We have gold on hand for upgrading all chariots AFAIK
