  • Yes, it was sent, and I'm guessing the reason behind the Horde's delay in playing the turn.

However, they have not responded in writing. So, I'm guessing that means their answer is a 'no'.

    • It was determined to show no mercy on your archers.

Combat results in your loss of 4 horses, and 4 archers. One of your surviving archers managed to kill an axe of ours despite being at 70% odds against. We salute his bravery and prowess.

When the turn arrives you will find our forces as follows, on the gold hill 9 of your location:

      Horse Archers:
      Combat III, str 0.5
      Combat II, str 2.6
      Combat II, str 2.6
      Combat I, str 4.9
      Combat I, str 6
      Combat I Medic, str 6

      Axes:
      Combat I, str 4.1
      Combat I, str 1.4

      2 Combat I chariots undamaged.
      1 Combat I spear undamaged.

We hope you find this information to be usefull in planning your next move.

I will be back in touch with a peace offer once the team digests the turn, unless you are uninterested, you could save me the time by replying before I take the time to draft it.

Too bad we couldn't all take part in the enjoyment of bragging, hehe.

        • Go ahead and brag away. The public forum is open. Just leave out the specific units involved so as to not give away tech levels.

What do you say to asking for a keshik and archer for peace? too little, too much?

The irony of ironies is their sacking of echo netted a 3 GPT increase on our part. Probably a bit more once we start growing again.

True, we lost the settler, the turns to road and build the cottage, 4 turns of cottage workage, and some food and granary buildup.

Had I known the two of them were going to be so damn slow in executing the attack, we could have made sure echo cost them a keshik or two as well. Ah well, another mistake on my part.

          • I think it is a reasonable offer.

Had we ever agreed to borders with the Horde? Could we ask for land concessions as well?

            • Greetings to the Horde,

After reviewing things with the foreign minister, we have decided on an asking price for peace.

As you are aware, you have pillaged 2 tiles and burned a city. This cannot go unnoticed when negotiating for peace.

That said, we have gained a considerable amount of xp from our battle with you, and shall factor that into the discussion. We propose then, that you agree to gift us 1 Keshik, and 1 Archer. Both of your choosing.

These would be representative of most of the cost of a replacement settler for the burned town. We will consider the lost tiles and remaining cost to be covered by the xp.

We understand that you may have agreements with Sarantium in place as well. We do not ask for assistance against them. However, if you feel in danger of retaliation if you were to negotiate peace with us, perhaps some kind of protection can be arranged between us. This would ensure that even were Sarantium to negotiate peace with Team Mercenary, they would not be capable of attacking you.

Also, the minister informs us that you are still lacking in several technologies. If peace were arranged, we would like to know if you would be interested in a Keshiks-for-knowledge exchange program.

So. Offer peace, agree to send us a keshik and archer of your choice, position those on our border for swift exchange once peace is accepted, and agree to send Sailing when you've researched it as originally agreed. You are also indebted a settler for the rented units, but we can accept some delay in that, or perhaps a renegotiation if you would need.

No, we've never negotiated a border with the Horde.

              • To: The Speaker of The Mercenaries and the Mercenary Government
From: The Great Council of The Horde
                Re: Peace Negotiations

-Be it known that we have received your proposal of peace. The Council has considered this proposal and has rejected it in total.
-Be it known that peace with those that betray The Horde is a rare thing indeed. That being said, and given the duplicitous nature of your governments structure, The Horde Council has ordered me from retirement and sent me forth to offer you a single chance for peace with The Horde.
-The Mercenary Government will immediately gift to The Horde 4 Horse Archers, 2 Axes, and a Spear as just compensation for the units you have destroyed. The Mercenary team will agree to not build any cities south of an east-west line one tile north of the city that The Horde justifiably removed from our sphere of influence.
-Further, be it known that The Horde wishes peace in order to fully settle our previous debts with you inspite of the betrayal of the spirit of our contract. Peace being the only way to allow such a payment, The Horde has decided to grant you this rare opportunity.
The Council will proceed with your destruction without an immediate acceptance of these terms. This is your one chance to save the “concept” of your government.
Further, The Great Council of The Horde sayeth not.

                • Unit gifting is absolutely not happening.

But, I would consider the border deal. Off memory, that seems roughly equal on the N/S line. But I'ld have to double check the map first.
