  • 575 BC : moving in

    chat mono-logue:
[7:34:46] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: I opened the save to take a look
[7:35:07] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: splitsville : warrior moved back into city, they rushed an axeman
[7:35:31] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: bananapolis : rushed an axeman
[7:38:25] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: settling our fourth city gives -2 gold maintenance, +1 gold due to taxes. growth in 11 turns, granary in 60 (so should be whipped when possible)
[7:40:45] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: the mash is guarded by 2 axemen
[7:43:02] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: due to the bigger amount of defense we see, I propose to let xian build another chuck
[7:45:32] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: one of our workers was out of jobs, I started to move him towards our fourth city (to build a road connection / chop some forest). Also, the missionary is on his way to that city
[7:49:09] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: still to do: what do we do with the scout, rename fourth city, whip lighthouse in being
[7:51:57] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: the scheme in the strategy thread doesn't work out completely though. The lighthouse had 26/60 instead of 25/60, but that is no problem
    [7:52:27] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: the new production is either +6 pop / +7 hammers or +5 pop / + 9 hammers
[7:53:49] Pieter-Jan Busschaert zegt: our (unpromoted) chucks still have a 95,5% to win against an axeman

    proposal:

scout moves back to the hill with the mine, where we were last turn and we keep it between splitsville and the mash

    the city name is Hongkong

i wouldn't hurry with this turn, just wait till tonite and send it on then

Also, with our chuks having 95.5% chance against axemen, it's maybe not necessary to build an extra chuck in Xian anyway. We could build a settler/worker/... instead (I don't remember what we agreed on previously).

I'd also like bt to check what influence the different hammer/food numbers in Being will have before sending on this turn. (I think it won't really be a problem, as we have more than planned, but I don't know if we need to focus on food or hammers now)

Yes safan, I think we do need to move away the scout. They can attack it with their axeman without risk. If they follow us, they'll probably kill us after a while anyway (we have 2 movements everywhere, but they can use roads).

if they are willing to leave the axeman in the open in trade for a scout, or if we can attack their damaged axeman after they attacked our scout there's no problem anyways

Aren't we gonna garrison our cities with something?

That might be a good idea, one chuck in each of our core cities. Once someone enters our territory, we have enough time to build a second one and we can move them in from neighbouring cities to help at the city under attack.

They must have directed all their commerce towards gold and purchased upgrades to their warriors in addition to whippings. I agree we should look to make more Chucks now and we probably can not take both of their remaining cities by splitting our forces.

Next turn our two chucks can plow through the first city and heal with their promotions. The axeman we have will need to use City Raider promotions just to have a slight chance of taking out a defender.

Tassagrad is closer to the front would it be a better place to build a Chuck?

We dont need garrisons right now imo.
Resources are atm spent better on something else as no threat is even possible.

Ok, we had a turnchat on the main matters, the turn is not finished yet, but here are the decisions that were made:

                  - move scout unto mine back where it was 2 turns ago - from there it can run further away next turn
                  - switch Xian to worker - it was chukonu, but the unit would be available to combat in the relevant battlefield in ~15 turns, at which time the battle should be over already. Tassagrad is still producing another chuck. Worker was the best choice of missionary/settler/worker, because we might get autospread to hong kong, so just wait a few turns to see what happens, while another settler might be a bit too early (but we should really do it next in Tassagrad)
                  - have Beijing optimized for GL. We can have GL at the endturn of next turn if we optimize Beijing for max hammers now. It could delay Literature by one turn, but it's likely it wont as GL will give us some extra commerce, also it appears that delaying the build start of Library by one turn wont hurt its delivery time (ie, wont delay it). I'll check this 2moro in the build plan to be 100% sure.

Opinions/objections/anything else that comes into mind regarding these should be expressed asap, so we can send on the turn.

But best case for next turns would be for more people just come and join us in Skype turnchats.

btw When it is possible to build garrisons without sacrificing to much opportunity we should do so
if you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it

''Oh,Commissar,if we could put the potatoes in one pile, they would reach the foot of God''.But,replied the commissar,''This is the Soviet Union. There is no God''.''Thats all right'' said the worker,''There are no potatoes''

there's already a missionary on it's way to hong kong. The one who was finished in Xian at the beginning of this turn. So, we definately don't need another missionary now.

I don't think there's a reason to delay the turn bt; just send it on with the things you posted. It all seems OK to me.

Yes, my thinking here was that we might get auto spread while it travels and that would make another missionary unneeded while the one whos currently going for hong kong would go for captured Banana 3rd then

Actually when you think about it, until Kong is collecting 4 hammers or we have a Shrine for Yangism spreading dose nothing for us. Perhaps we should look towards using this Missionary some ware else.

It expands the city, giving it 2 fish tiles and additional forest tile in range for chop, so it does something.
