If we offer in-game, we should really send them an other official diplomacy message as soon as we send the turn (or maybe even before), so they are not completely surprised and do not need to stall the turn for days.

O mighty AC, conqueror of all things yellow and slippery, The Storm salutes you!
First, may we offer you our hearty congratulations on your efficient
and ruthless subjugation of Team Banana.
Second, we thank you for your continued interest in tech trading with
The Storm. Our statemen welcome AC's trade proposal of Literature and
Sailing for Monarchy.
Third, we too share your concern about maintaining a tech lead over
our opponents on the other continent. As such, we look forward to
discussing further tech trades and building a cooperative plan for the
research of new technologies. Below is a list of technologies that we
have already acquired and our tentative plans for future research. If
AC is willing to supply it, The Storm would be grateful for a similar
list, so that both teams may resume fruitful negotiations.
We look forward to the day when the trumpets of war shall cease and
our two nations together usher an era of peace and prosperity on this
great continent.
With utmost respect and best wishes,
The Gathering StormGreetings Team AC,
This list should have been appended to the email just sent.
TECHS OBTAINED:
All level 1 techs
All level 2 techs except Sailing
All level 3 techs except HBR, Monotheism
All level 4 techs except MC
All level 5 techs except Compass
From level 6 techs, only Construction
CURRENTLY RESEARCHING:
CoL (272 of 500 beakers invested)
Warm regards,
The Gathering Storm
1.We should negotiate for transfer of CoL as soon as they have it. If they don't agree to anything else, MC vs CoL + IOU would be anyways a good deal. Other than the latter we can propose Currency for CoL.
2.Their research of CoL leaves us with Calendar to research next.
3.We must see what is their next aim (which they have failed to provide), if it's CS and we pop GM, we'd be getting there first.Last edited by binTravkin; October 6, 2007, 02:33.-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

we could say we were already researching CoL, but since they doing it now we will cancel and let them have the religion?

I think there is no need to remind them that we intended to go CoL.
With them researching it we might get it even sooner as planned, if we have the deal agreed when CoL is done.
News are that GS has accepted our deal Monarchy vs Literature and Sailing, so we can go on with deals.
If we drop CoL, we can go Calendar and have it in ~7 turns, so following deals would be possible:
1.Currency for CoL as soon as CoL is done*.
2.Calendar for Construction.
* - we could even offer to transfer Currency next turn so as to speed up their CoL research by a turn. What do you think? Do we trust them so much?-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

from the chat, me
i trust them on the currency now for col later thing. its unlikely for a team to deliberatly betray someone and even more rare to do so when opportunity shows itself, ussualy betrayal is premeditated
in a PBEM its easy to get backstabbed, but in a DG it would require several players to agree to backstab.i think most players are not prone to backstabbing, and for a whole group to do so would seem unlikelyif you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it

Plus GM has other uses, or another tech can be popped.
There is no other 1000b+ tech in range for GM to pop.
Lightbulbing CS is our best shot if GM is born.
Edited message proposal:
--------------------------------
Greetings our friends!
We're happy to see you back in the diplomatic arena and thank you for your acceptance of the deal proposed by us.
We are also willing to cooperate closer in technological development so here's a list:
AC techs currently researchable:
- HorseBack Riding
- Music
- Drama
- Calendar
- Construction
- CoL
- Feudalism
- Compass
We've just done researching Currency and we could transfer it to you right away in the hopes that it cuts a turn off your CoL research time on a basis that you transfer CoL to us immediately after it's research is finished. This exchange would be somehow resembling our much earlier dealings around Monotheism and us getting a religion.
After that we'd be interested in Calendar as it would allow us to use our newly acquired resources. Since you are researching CoL, we could be doing Calendar now and once done exchanging it for your Construction.
The next most important tech to us seem to be Civil Service.
At some point we'd want to also take Compass, but we recognize that as of now it is of little value to you, so probably it won't participate in cooperative tech plans so much.
Also, what are your plans after CoL?
Your friends @ Team AC

It's a plot to get them to research it (which can't be bad in any case).
Any reason to not mention it?-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

Why not just ask GS to research fuedalism straight out and we will provide cheap backfill techs in exchange while we wait. If we really want them as ally, we can be relativly forthcoming with our intentions as well as our game position.
Better banking plan-GSAC research banking, we get GS to make banks while we make army, invadeif you want to stop terrorism; stop participating in it

you're evil!
Although I like the idea in principle I think banks is too early to backstab, we need to get to cavalry at least and probably further. I can't really see us beating the other continent if we tear each other apart before tanks.
I don't have much experience in demo games, at what point do people gang up on you because you're going to win?
