    I'm not too fond on completely revealing our knowledge of the terrain, although they probably walked +/- the same path as our warrior did before he got killed.

    Maybe they should tell us the location of their city first (ie: "16 tiles to the east and 4 tiles to the south of your city").

        How about sending something back like:

        Sounds good. Could we perhaps ask the location of your capital? Knowing that would speed up when we can start border and exploration discussions.
        Then if their capital is closer to the marble, we don't share exploration info. But if we're closer, we can be more open.

          Yeah, I think the marble is our priority here.

              Screenshot trading is permitted, as is any discussion you want to have about the map itself.

                Seeing as how we wanted to focus on The Great lighthouse and Collosus the Marble is not a show stoper, I think we will likly get it in any event, its so close to our capitol. Also realize that with good planing we could easily trade them the marble when we are not using it and visa-versa.

                I sugjest we sugjest to them a simultanious full exchange of all know terriritory by screenshots. See what they think of that. We then comence a program of maximum efficiency explorataion of the Fog and once we have the continent explored we can move into more detailed territory discussions.

                  Calling all Spartans!

                  We cannot allow this foreign power whos intentions and strength are currently unknown to gain information useful for invasion. Rather, we should take the initiative and explore fast and determine the layout of our continent before they do. We should then secure the valuable locations and, should it prove possible, try and cut them out of most of the continent or leave them with a very indefensible border.

                    I say we act in a friendly manner. Actually cooperating with them will yeld great results, if they agree, and refusing screenshot trades with them will only lead to animosity. Besides, they already know where our capital is, so there isn't much point in hiding that from them.

                      besides, they're ind + cre with an early gunpowder UU, so it's not like they're likely to rush us...

                      In fact, seing that they're Ind, it might be good idea to more o less coordinate with them if either of us plans on building a wonder, so that we don't end up with tons of wasted minerals.

                      There's still some other Ind civs, but coordinating with one is better than none.

                        So any suggestions what we should send them? Not feeling very inspired on this point.

                          So, basicly there are 3 suggestions in this thread:

                          => ask for their capital location
                          => share (almost) all info
                          => don't share info

                          I think we can start with asking for their capital location. Tell them we are discussing the shared exploration idea, but it's not completely clear to us how they see this in concrete actions (ie: screenshots, coordinates, ... ?).

                          We could promis a decision before their next turn, so they can base their next scout move on the result of this discussion.

                            just act like rl diplomats: organise partys and meetings that have no purpose exept in gaining time so we can get more information without them feeling neglected.

                            about trading screenshots:

                            they know more then we do, what they don't know they will soon uncover. So i see nothing to loose there.

                            if they give their capital location thats a very friendly act, but with our scout we will find it sooner or later anyways.

                            what we should share are things they know already, or can get theirselves. Tis will make a more friendly relation possible then saying we don't wanna share.

                            Of course there's a diference between sharing everything and still keeping secrets ...

                            the resource trading could be interesting, mayb u can put that on the table already. If we could make that all wonders are builded by them or us ... (and then we will conquer those they builded )

                              I wouldn't be too sure of that. With our scout we might quickly be gaining back the exploration loss we had due to our lost warrior.

                              Anyway, sent a quick message:

                              How do you see shared exploration efforts more concretely? Screenshots, coordinates?...

                              Also we're wondering if you'd be willing to tell us the location of your capital relative to ours. Knowing that would greatly speed up when we can start border discussions. If you'd rather not tell, no problem of course.
