we need cottages asap, chopping isn't useful until after math, to churn out wonders quickly

        we need more votes !

It's a problem when the majority is silent and only the minority speaks up.

I don't know what to do now, and I'd like to send out the turn tomorow morning asap.

Currently the majority is bronze working, so bronze working it should be when you play the turn.

I started wondering... If you hold off the tech choice the first turn, don't you get all beakers the next turn?

So I think we don't need to hold up this turn and continue discussing this untill the next turn.

I voted for bronze working to get slavery quicker not to chop things down. I can see the logic of building cottages early too though.

A quick hotseat test confirmed we don't have to choose this turn.

Turn sent on without deciding this. But, continued discussion till next turn arives ...

I voted for the Wheel to get Granaries sooner. I'd rather farm a few tiles first.

Chopping is greatly weakened in 1.61, its still something we want to do but not something to beline for. Lets farm our way to some large cities and tec up to Math befor chopping.
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

Yeah. It is much more useful to chop post-maths. We might still want to chop one forest to speed our settler, but we should try and save them for some wonder...

Anyways, Wheel -> Pottery, to get granaries, an maybe plop down a cottage or two.

After that, I'd do Fishing -> Sailing if there's a sea resource nearby a nice second city location and do BW just before our third or fourth settler comes out...

What would u rush with slavery? remember we lose one turn by converting to it, and as long as we don't have granary's pop is growing slow.

I just don't see immediate turn advantage in bw at this moment, while every turn we have a cottage on one of those flood plains will give us 2 extra gold!
