Offer Polytheism and Masonry to AC (Yang)

Shouldn't we finish of polytheism? We need it to complete the tech trades with AC.

Then on to Construction, no? IIRC, that requires masonry.

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

Yes, I'm just now getting a handle on the tech situation. Polytheism next, if not sooner, interrupting Mathematics for one turn. Then Masonry (3 or 4 turns), then Construction.

        I suggest otherwise.

I would ask AC to let us do masonary and polytheism, because otherwise we either have to trade for masonary of AC or just do the same research to get to construction.

I'm not sure I understand you correctly - are you saying you want to research Masonry before completing Mathematics? And if so, why is that better?

[q=Krill]The bonus of doing things this way are we help out AC and don;t have to screw about with masonary being a bottleneck[/q]

Basically we need masonary and maths to research construction; the order doesn't matter (ignore chopping)

What is important is not researching mathss and then sit around waiting for AC to research masonary and then having to research something to trade for masonary and not delaying the research time to construction.

And when AC finish maths they want to get to Monotheism asap; so they would either research polytheism which almost have or masonary, which we also want to do. So we do masonary now and then trade polytheism and masonary to AC when they finish alphabet. This helps them and makes them happy, and they give us IW to make us happy. We're one tech closer to killing Vox, and our alliance with AC is that little bit stronger.

Yes, I understand now - I had missed the importance of a line in the last AC message about Masonry.

Wouldn't Cantona be more useful on the Forest Hill 32 of its current position? It's pretty far away right now to contribute the choke, and if Vox tries to expand northward the tile I'm suggesting is just as effective a roadblock.

Agreed - if it's available, we should grab that hill.

                          *sigh*

Those opinions would have been valuable last turn, before we moved onto the more northern forest hill.

It's no big deal. The hill he's on now is a good spot as well, btw. But now I see that the other hill, closer in, is unoccupied...

In the end I don't think it will matter that we "wasted" a turn.

Vox moved away their Archers - which have to be on the forest under shadow 777 from the Voice. While that's a good thing (not threatening Winestrom anymore), it also means they'll be able to claim that forest hill closer to the Voice before we could move Cantona there. The Warrior also moved away, to the south.

In the Voice itself we can see a Settler. There is still just the one (double-city-promotion) Archer defending.

Spinebreaker continues to heal - no barbs.

The AC scout moved to the north west - that's the best we could have hoped for.

                              Thoughts?
