The barb warrior to the south of EotS is a major problem. If he has advanced in our direction, I think we need to switch to max hammers & build a skirmisher asap. Otherwise we very well could lose the mine. The plan for worker #1 is probably going to be disrupted either way (next move was to road the copper, IIRC).

Beckham needs to get back to the wine tile in time to cover the settler that will be headed there. If we interrupt the settler build, that gives Becks a couple extra turns to be involved in the choke before turning around. Otherwise, isn't it about time he comes back? Soon, anyway.

Look at it this way; if we build a skirm prior to completing the settler, we could use that skirm as a garrison for wines instead of having to recall Becks (Can we call the next Skirm Cantona by any chance?)

        We could, but I wouldn't.

Because where there is 1 barb warrior, there are others. The skirm I want to build will be on barb whacking duty around EotS. Becks would still be needed as a garrison for wines.

Well, seeing that Blake isn't usually wrong...I'd say go ahead with the settler.

I'll echo what I said in the T51 thread: if the warrior moves laterally or away from EotS, fine. If the warrior advances, however... I dunno.

Something else to remember, that 10 turns after stopped building the skirm we start losing hammers on that build...

BTW, I said it before and nobody commented on it. I'll say it again now so that hopefully someone will respond.

Someone on this map is cottaging and is cottaging river tiles. The highest GNP is now 21, and the average hasn't moved.

This cuts two ways; only one team is getting ahead of us in commerce; none of the other teams are going to be able to stop them unless they put a boot in that teams face fairly soon.

Wait...looks like something is slightly wrong with this version of civ for me...I have pottery as 72/114 (and 3 turns to completion? Pretty sure that your using a different numbering method on that...)
