Ok, so there is no real news on the patch yet... well some great rumours, and some posts that sure look like they are authorive and all that - but still no patch...

We are waiting for the patch to arrive.Then,the Mercenary'turn player will install the patch in his computer and begin the game...over Snoopy369'pre-patch save.Is it that?
I realy know nothing of computers.But if someone is kind enought to explain me that.

I think snoopy's done a mod, not a specific save at this point. So the map and etc is set, but no save exists yet, or I assure you I would be playing it.

If, as I hope, it is released next week, I may have a day or two delay, as I'm uber busy next week (promotion at work, new store, etc, on top of a busy period anyway). But it'll be within a few days of it.

I understand the desire for a clean start... but maybe we could just risk it and go ahead on the assumption that the patch will be backwards compatible?

Folks are losing interest.

It is now March and we have been waiting since the end of December for this sucker to get going.

We're losing our edge.

Plus, Patches really are not reliable for timeliness.

Maybe, in the spirit of retarding progress, try a Poll, "Should we start now anyway?," for only the Team Leaders. Put a 24 hour time limit on it.

I can wait a little bit longer, as I don't want to even think about trying to setup a duel install with this game. Has anyone even tryed to do that to verify that it can be done correctly??

Although, if anyone has an inside source as to when the earliest we can hopefully expect a patch, it would be nice to hear something to help us decide to wait or go with what we have. I know that delays due to QA issues do happen, but knowing that we can expect it sooner (rather than later) would really be nice to know.

There have been plenty of duel installs, yes. It seems to work nicely... however we can't ask this from every DG member. I'm not sure that would be even necessary, though

The problem is that you're asking the wrong crowd... only Firaxis, or 2Kgames can give this information, and I highly doubt they will.

The patch will not be backwards compatible, to the best of my knowledge. Either way, I have reason to believe it will only be a short time (though I had nearly as good reason to believe this last month, too ...).
