The woman with long golden hair sat reading through lenses perched on her nose.

“You old fool,” she said out loud to herself. “That’s no way to end a story. It’s only barely a beginning.”

She knew that most people would not care about the details of the lives of the children of Trin and Lore, but she did care and wished that it could be shared.

The Old Man sat outside today in the sun. He had an earthenware pitcher of beer at his elbow and seemed content to watch the river and the birds in the hedges. At the same time the pitcher would get lighter and lighter and he would nod off.

She took the lenses off and carefully wrapped them in a soft cloth before putting them into a pocket in her skirt. Standing in the doorway of the immaculately clean house she looked at the old man and decided that he had earned a little bit of a rest. Only a little bit, mind you, before she would pester him to tell some more.

While she watched, the Old Man slipped a little and woke himself up. In doing so he lurched sideways off the seat and crashed into the bench with the beer pitcher. With all this action happening so quickly while he struggled to come awake, he saw the pitcher slide off into the air as he thrashed. This caused him to flail even faster while he battled and grappled with the pitcher, first in an attempt to keep it from breaking and then in the vain attempt to keep it from emptying itself. A vain attempt as the pitcher sloshed the remainder of its contents onto him before coming to rest, inverted, mostly on his nose.

“Ahh, wize this stuff happen to me?” he complained with a nasal echoing through the chamber of the pitcher.

The woman sat down and laughed so hard that she cried. But not so hard that she missed his expressed desire for a refill.

And thus the Chronicles ended. Readers, perhaps, need to look inside themselves for what they sought in the writing and what they hoped to influence.

The Old Man died. The blond woman moved into his house and perhaps took up his task. She worked hard to catch up and understand his notes.

But nothing comes without effort. Nothing comes easily or without commitment. Nothing comes without human contact. Nothing comes without affection and love.

She found it hard to carry on by herself.

And thus... thus it came to an end.

No words (even in my language).

The only thing I can say I liked and perhaps understood a little of the story concelead in the story.

          My best regards,

It's sad to see you stop. It's not completely unexpected though, as your previous comments already show you were not satisfied with the number of people who gave feedback. It's hard to motivate yourself when that happens, but it's very common. Many interesting projects (be it writing, modding, ...) are put on hold by the authors because they wrongly think nobody cares.

Actually, I have been satisfied that enough people read it. And I enjoy the writing anyway.

I've stopped because apparently persons are reading the story and looking for veiled insults. There are no such features in these stories. They were just for fun, but I recognize the need to be sensitive to the audience.

I'm debating with myself about removing the stories entirely for this reason.

There certainly won't be any future writings here because of this.

I'm amazed at how much bad feelings are clouding civ-demogames. Never experienced such things in the alpha-centauri world.

Maybe I need to hang out there. I played AC to death back in the day. Ugly map, difficult interface, but soooo many cool features. A tidy remake that kept the flavor of the thing would be welcome (and one for XCOM, of course).

Sorry to see you stop writing GB.

That "other site" would be more than accomodating if you prefer that venue

nope. I've learned. I offered people something pretty and fun and their tiny self interest denied everybody else.

This game is not for elevating spirits. It sold out to ugly.

I only regret that I did not get to read it before it was gone.

GB...my hope is that you will reconsider. In a world of darkness, we need all the lights we can get.
