Arrian (That sneaky SOB ) did a marvelous job diplowise in that game.
And he was very gracious about it as well

I think that Vox wishes to do Random, with some oversight

GENERATION 35: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
The early game is so pivotal that, without it, you just to water down the satisfaction of strategic victory by opening the door to pure luck and random chance.
Granted, it's built into the game, but let's at least try to minimize it.
"The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country." -- Abraham Lincoln

That is, unless you don't mind the idea spending the first six months of the game digging your team out of a jungle start on a small, isolated island that has no resources other than bananas. Oh, where do I sign up?
You might as well concede defeat now and save the six months.

May God Bless.
You know full well why we don't like that map. It is because you left a lot of blatant changes on the map that both destroys realism, and game balance.
I mean, what are the odds of our continet having 1 iron on it? And one horse?. Even C3C was not that stingy. And what about all of those ocean tile right next to the coastal tile? And why the hell are there no gems on the entire map?
Mate, the PTWDG2 map is the shodiest one I have ever seen.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Team Alpha Centaurians has reached a consensus upon option #3 'Random generation with oversight - I want to complain to someone!'.

Nope, worst map I have experienced for a DemoGame.
