Oh, it can work. The problem I see is that many of those players can, and probably will burn out. and if that does hapen, it is unfair to make those players keep on playing the game, and it is unfair to force other people to replace them.

So, the only real point that I was trying to make was about replacements, really. Sorry if I implied something else.

Yeah, there should be lower limit, whereas 10 sounds just nice - most current teams have surpassed that and as cIV disease spreads over the world, those who haven't, will surpass as well.
And NO NO NO to upper limit! (you can count it as 3 votes 'NO').

And I agree, that is a very valid concern. And that is why on the small Vox team, we were Ok, as in essence we had 5 players who could and would be willing to play the turn. I suspect a number of larger teams will still only have a core of 5 players willing to play the turn.

So, in that respect we agree 100%. A team has to be large enough to ensure its functionality (which includes timely playing of the save) throughout the entire game - or until they are defeated by Sarantium.

Just a stray thought about the timing of starting this game.

I would be in favor of starting it sooner rather than later. Even if not everybody has CivIV in hands, it IS a demo game.

Getting started earlier means getting through the early development part sooner. The later we start, the later it will be before we get to what I consider more interesting choices.

People can and will continue to join as some action and movement becomes apparent.

Waiting too long can damper enthusiasm - there is a cresting right now with the new release.
