Of course the admin/referee/observer should have access to the private forum.

Well if someone wanted to cheat and discuss it in the private forums, then of course you would want to restrict access now wouldn't you

I have not thought of that. Can we keep the private forums closed?

          Oh wait...

Ming and MarkG will have access to any and all private forums anyway.

Chrisius, you don't have a choice in the matter. If you take part in the demogame, You Will Have an Overseer looking over your shoulder.

If you try to stop anyother impartial person from becoming a game mod, we will just have to ask Ming to look over the game...and I doubt that he will be pleased that you alone forced him to take on this extra responsibility...or maybe the admins would just install a game admin of their choosing, and ignore all of our views...

Take my advice. Try to pick someone you know and trust, in conjunction with the rest of us, to be game admin, or face having no say in the matter whatsoever.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

will you also want access to my email inbox too ???

This point again. This game WILL have admins who have access to all team forums. That is non-negotiable AFAIK. We learned lessons in the PTWDG, and recent events in the C3CDG only reinforce this need.

There are enough top-notch folks around to do this appropriately.
Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.

              I concur with Beta's statement.

Perfect statement. Hindsight is good, and I have learnt in this. May our game administrators be diligent and graceful in their actions.

Okay Ill step back from my earlier point, its clear that if this was polled it would be majority in favour so im flogging a dead horse.

Im still not sure I agree but Ill go with the majority.

Wow, I must've missed something ugly in the C3CDG. I thought the public spats in the PTWDGI were ugly...

Yes. We've all grown up and learned new grown up words to fight with.

As anyone come forward for this task? Plus, we very likely might need a team, not just one admin. It is a big task so better arrange for backup.

Well, I'd be happy enough to bow out of the Alpha Centaurians and jointly moderate this game.

I entered - and suggested an AC team - to learn from other players, but the learning is multiplied when CMN'ing (I moderated ACDG II) so that, too, would be attractive to me.

(And I might just be able to twist Vel's arm enough to share in moderator duties - we go back a long way together - and he can then examine the various strategies at work as he writes his Strategy Guide.)

Googlie - that would be great. And having both you and Vel would be icing on the cake. Having a small handfull of folks is best (at least two) - to cover off for one another - and to have folks to consult amongst when issues do arise.

And yes, having the Sarantium tactic of Great and Abiding Light in Vel's strategy guide will be good too.
