    Code:
    Team Preference
    ----------------------------------
    Vox Romans
    GS ?
    Banana Germans
    Horde Mongols, Romans
    A Centaurians	Greeks
    ----------------------------------
If there's no interference between preferences, I say we can go with first (most priorital) preference of each team (at least for the first cIV Team DG), if the interference is little, we can make a 2-preference matrix.

Reason is, some teams (Alpha Centaurians, Horde) have very strong first preference, some also lack 3rd preference (again Alpha Centaurians - our name is greekish, we intend to play greeks, but we could play Rome, who else bears good relevance to greeks?, Horde - same here, not much of the civilisations are remembered as 'Hordes').

while Vox has a latin name..

but I personally don't favor Rome.. but perhaps the rest of my team does

          A little description here:

          Code:
          Team Desc
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Vox An old and well known team having history in Civ3 Demo Games.
'Vox Controli' being their slogan, you can expect them to exert all kinds
of subliminal control over you as their underling
(or you can exert it yourself to other members)

GS Basically the same here, with a little more emphasis on weather issues
than actual control (but that might just be a myth aswell, they could be
          		controlling you via weather)

Horde Their name is agresiveness, their numbers are big, their wrath is unseen
          		For they are [i]The[/i] Horde!

          Banana Fun. More questions?
Okay, they laugh at their enemies when defeating them and laugh about
themselves when being defeated. Either way is good as long as there's
          		fun.

A Centaurians	A team, of the veterans and even elites (!) of the old and tradition
rich Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri community. Designed to excel, hence the
'Alpha' and designed to.. well forget about it, we bear no relevance
to mythological centaurs if only to the Chiron.

Mercenaries	Well, ever heard about swissmen? No? Read some history fella, for they
are the historical prototype for this team - they honed their military
skills mostly for one reason - to go abroad and get paid for fighting.
As time went, everyone knew them so well (well, after all they had been
on almost every battlefield), noone wanted to fight them when they
were fighting for themselves, a.k.a. for free.

GoMW 'Glory of More War' is here to show Horde how to wage war
'with some style' as their leader states.
Think no comments needed - warmongers by heart.
          ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is all for current teams.

You can find more detalised information in threads.

          Hope that helps!

(and I hope I haven't misundertood anything, I drew those descriptions from what I could gather)

              You offend me

We are such cunning diplomats we actually made the world believe we were a warmongering team despite being the next-to-last team in the PTWDG to actually enter combat.

Btw, I really fear for this game if we are all just so gung-ho to start playing that we begin when there's still a plethora of bugs to fix, as well as many people who might not even have the game until the holidays.

I honestly think we should wait until early 2006 to start. I just want to remind everyone what happened when PTW came out and everyone jumped on the DG bandwagon and the game was plagued with so many bugs throught the next 2 years that we required Gramphos' intervention on more than one occassion and had it on hold for over a week at times.

                Patience please.

At least one patch elapsed would be good - the most annoying problems usually (and fortunately) come first, but meanwhile we can just sit around and plot, form teams, lure away other team members into own team and do other fun things on 'while we are waiting' basis..

That just mean I struck your inner being!

Well, k, I said 'at heart' which does not necessarily mean the same as 'at hand' or something even more physical.

This is not a bad idea.

At a minimum, it should not be first-come first served.

Or use the matrix being developed of what civs a team wants, and then seeing how it pans out - with maybe some coin flipping to decide when more than one team wants the same civ. Been done in other demo games.

I was just saying that I was not sure... (Rome was one name that had been tossed out as in interesting nation)

we actually would prefer not to pick our nation until the new forums/private forums go up
