  • Maybe we should have switched to monarchy too?

    • we do not have happiness problems, because we have no flood plains to work, at least not as many as them
if one of our cities becomes unhappy we whip it away

        • They must also at last be experiencing war exhaustion (I think it kicks in only at certain amount of pop).

          • Or they want to grow large. Theatres are only +1 unless you're willing to burn commerce. A second religion is only +1 if you build a (quite expensive) temple. Monarchy is an immediate 1 happy in most cities, and then unlimited 1 happy for 1 warrior.

Rep could be considered better if you only need that +3, but it does take significant more research...

            • market places are good too, if you have access to the resources. But they must need it quickly, war weariness sounds right to me.

O mighty Centaurians of the Alpha persuasion,

We can confirm that we have no intention of interfering with your
struggle against the Bananas, and we agree that a conflict between
ourselves is most likely to benefit our rivals abroad. Indeed, the
word 'fruitless' is perhaps not the best adjective to describe the
future of our two Civs, as we're sure that there should be enough
bananas to go round - within a framework of equitable and
                mutually-beneficial trades.

Our sages are considering possible immediate-term trades and exchanges
as you have suggested, and we will endeavour to come back to you with
some details as soon as we can. Opening up trade routes sounds like a
good objective, and I'm sure we will do what we can to facilitate
                this.

May the stars shine on your spears, and universal wisdom enlighten your minds.

                • Damn, I should've sent that pm some 10 turns earlier - we'd have a trade link now (and a possible spread-in religion in GS ).

                    • The fact thats its pro GS/AC unity/mutual struggle is good, but the more important thing to note is the poster, Blake is clearly becoming more active now that BtS work is done (he was working on the AI as nearly a second job) he may just be a spectator but I think theirs a good chance hes contributing as he's wanting to get back into playing Civ and essentially taking a vacation from coding. If so our chances of out growing and ultimately dominating GS are reduced but their value as a long term allie is increased.

                        • We have a weaker and less expensive opponent however

It seems GS is very favourable to a AC\GS alliance. Maybe we should sign a pact of brotherhood? Or just keep it at a quid pro quo alliance?

                          • We dont even have an open borders yet. I think that we first need that trade route and open borders.
