As we are the "alpha centaurians", I guess not many of us have played a lot of civ4. I have only played 3 games, and that's way too little to be usefull as game-experience in this demo-game. While we are used to each others skill level in smacx, I think it would be usefull to know each ohters skill level in civ4 too.

Participating in one PBEM atm, and done a fair amount of SP-games. I took a civ (in the PBEM) that has one of the traits the Greek have: Philosophical. Basically it means we're better off with the Great Persons as a means to gain advantage(s).

This forum must have the most mods ever btw.
I have played zero civgames too , but Im quite acquainted with the strategies, have been reading the appropriate forum since it was up.
I feel that I should start (playing) today..-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.
-- Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

I started about ten games, finished five to six of them. All but one on noble setting. However I won't have time for Civ4 in future with ongoing AC projects, so I'll just lurk and roleplay here.SMAC/X FAQ | Chiron Archives

maybe 5 games to completion on noble. Lost one of those due to building the united nations, one of my enemies was too popular and my supposed allies jumped ship and voted against me. I was turns away from launching my space ship
Two or three games on easier difficulties to practice before I went to noble.

I've got about a 50/50 chance of wining on Prince and am currently playing on Monarch ware I still get steamrolled by the AI (fall behind in gamescore and everyone goes to war with my defenceless Builder nation).
I spend most of my time Moding (modifying not moderating) Civ4.Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators, the creator seeks - those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche
