      Another axe, IMO.

        Axe seems prudent. We will require a barracks before we finish constructuion however, so I would suggest something along the lines of Axe->Barracks->Axe->Axe if we have time.

          A barracks is, what, 80 hammers? If so, then some rough calculations say that we go Axe-Barracks-Skirm-Catapult.

            Is a barracks going to make this much of a difference right now? I mean, we're not in a position to attack anyone else after Vox, and our first attack is going to be the Voice. A barracks costs 3 cats or 2 axes, wouldn't either of those help us more with conquering the Voice?

            When it comes to Vox city 2, a barracks would be helpful as it would add a promotion (not 2) to some of our units. But that city shouldn't be too hard to take anyway.

            I of course agree we need a barracks soon, but it doesn't seem to me that the units we're going to use now are absolutely needed to get to 5 xp: before long, we'll be able to build better units, and it remains a question if we're going to do a lot of upgrading at first. There's no one around, so we might be better of to build new units from scratch.

            And a good thing our scout survived. I don't know, but I had a feeling he would die to that warrior.

              If the Scout had died I would have surrendered to the RNG and given up. After the huts and then the attack on the Voice, it owed us one.

                Hmm... barracks is 3 cats? Cats are how many hammers? I thought they were around the same price as axes, but I can't remember right now.

                  Barracks is 60...and the difference isn't 3 cats so long as it gets built before construction, it's a little less than 2 unpromoted axes...and all of the cats that we build in EotS will be barrage, or city raider, and we will be building a fair few cats...

                    cat = 40 hammers, Barracks = 60, Axe = 25...all IIRC, I'm kinda used to values on a different game speed...

                      cat = 40h
                      barracks = 60h
                      axe = 35h
                      skirm = 25h

                      I always play on normal speed

                        Ok, then.

                        Turn81 - Begin axe. 2h overflow +12h/turn.
                        Turn82 - 14h
                        Turn83 - 26h
                        Turn84 - Axe complete, 3h overflow, begin barracks
                        Turn85 - 15h
                        Turn86 - 27h
                        Turn87 - 39h
                        Turn88 - 51h
                        Turn89 - barracks complete, 3h overflow, begin skirm
                        Turn90 - 15h
                        Turn91 - Skirm complete, 2h overflow, begin skirm.
                        Turn92 - 14h.
                        Turn93 - Construction complete. Skirm complete, 1h overflow, begin Cat.

                        Alternate:

                        T89 - barracks complete, 3h overflow, begin axe
                        T90 - 15h
                        T91 - 27h
                        T92 - Axe complete, 4h overflow, begin skirm.
                        T93 - 16h, const complete.
                        T94 - Skirm complete, 3h overflow, begin cat

                          Do we have whipping plans for Wines and Taz?

                            Wines gets whipped for 2 pop next turn. Taz gets whipped for 2 pop when it reaches size 4. After that nothing was set in stone IIRC.

                              hmm... I should play more it seems

                              But still... even non-promoted, we're going to lose 1 or 2 cats before all the rest have a fair chance of winning against damaged archers. If they don't have iron or copper, we don't need a barracks, it's just a choice.

                              Actually, we don't need that many units anyway, it seems. Maybe we should consider plonking down the furs city before going for the Voice. That might do us more good in the end.
