I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die. -

Just been having a little fun looking at all those city screens posted from the last chat. I noticed a few things
a) We can get +2 food in Iron Tusks by farming the tile between one of our existing farms and the corn
b) I’ve wondered about doing the same in Rubygrad but recognise that this would destroy a workshop and a waterwheel, which in the future will give us more. But the timing here is linked to discovery of Replaceable Parts, Chemistry and Communism so I can’t give any strong view on this one.
c) On the military build up, we are building some barracks in places that I assumed would have fairly minimal military production – Berlin being one example. It seems too far away to be able to contribute much to proceedings down then and it would have seemed to me better for Berlin to focus on other things. It is, after all, free from any surprise attacks so the barracks as an insurance buildings doesn’t seem to offer much.
d) I guess we are also expecting to send over crossbows, macemen and pikes/war elephants. I can never remember what dangers Gandhi might have in store for us.
e) Do we have any plans for civics. I noticed that we didn’t go Bureaucracy so guess this is because we wanted the Free Speech bonus to our towns. This would be an ideal time now to set about another cottage spam for those cities designated for cerebral or financial concerns.Comment

Just a quick note to let you know I will not be attending this turnchat after all.
After talking to Minister Fed on numerous occasions I have realised that my knowledge of Interior matters is sadly lacking so I will use this time for practice and experimentation. It looks like I will finally be dusting Gandhi off and giving him a go after all!!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the recent events from an external perspective (thanks all, Paddy especially) and would like to continue in this mode for the near future.
