Surely the message of peace and brotherhood is beyond mere nationalism?

If we move forward with our war on India, let us wait to be asked by the Aztecs. It will give us a diplomatic bonus. The Aztecs will surley go for Madras or Bangalore first. They will probably ask soon. If we can have our galleons right outside Indias cultural borders, we can then pounce on Bombay. Follow up with a flanking naval maneuver to Dehli then come back and pick up Kohlapur.

Be warned, I would bet if we take Kohlapur it is just a matter of time before France declares war on us to boot us off their continent. War on France needs something more. A technology still on our horizon.
Yes, negotiations could take some time.

I'm merely suspicious that 16 people had voted so soon after the resolution had been posted (4 hours when I looked). Rallying citizens takes time and I would not expect the speed of reaction that the vote generated.

One thing I have wondered, and perhaps there are some who might know is whether or not it is possible for someone to have voted more than once on the poll. Is anyone aware of what checks there are to stop this?

When I met the site's owners, DanQ and MarkG at Apolycon they said that the site tracks ISPs and individual names as well as duplicate/nearly duplicate passwords. If someone voted more than once it would take enough effort on their part with creating all the multiple logins etc. that they couldn't do it in that amount of time.

Also I voted Yes 1 day after the poll was up, so I think your numbers may be off a little bit because I wasn't the 16th vote.

As I voted yes few minutes after the thread began (and so posted)

                I must say that:

May be I am just an old and old fashion man, that sees this as a

group of persons and not a group of machines or pixels or

                whatever.

Can you please say if you wanted to point me some dishonest

                act or behaviour?

                I will wait your answer.

Within 15 minutes of this poll being open, General Paddy brought it to my attention via messenger. Then within 45 minutes of this poll being open I received an email with a link to the poll and a few hints on how to vote and why. The email was from General Paddy as well. It was about this sort of "rallying the Citizens to a cause" that I refered to before. As General Paddy is part of the Government for this Term, I would not be surprised that he had some for knowledge that the poll would be started, nor that he knew when and what it would be about. That he takes the time to spread the word on issues to people throughout the community should be seen as a positive sign. You could also say that in his own way he is going out of his way to keep people interested in this and other games. That Citizens of Concordia rallied to General Paddy's call can be attributed to several things: he is Paddy; he does a lot of these newsletters for various games, and people know and understand what they are getting; he was the President here before and is known throughout; he takes the time to get in touch with people. That not many votes have been attributed to polls in the past elections, could be he did not send out a newsletter then, as I do not remember receiving one then, as he was just back to the Capital after quite a time away. Then as has been posted above, others also have stated they posted and voted early on, so maybe they to were in the know of the upcoming poll as well.

Voting in favor of the war; having failed to found any religions, we need to aquire a few holy cities to boost our long term economy.

We actually still have a chance to found Islam. We will know within 2 in-game turns if we do.

Also, Napoleon and Montezuma both tend to be aggressive leaders. If we kiss up to Monty when he asks for help, it will help insure we are fighting France and only France when the time comes.

I was certain that the total was 12 v 4 when I posted the message and this was 4 hours after the poll was started.

But seeing the comments raised here, I can see how the initial voting could be explained. Unless further evidence comes to light, there is, in my mind, no question of the legality of the poll.

That said, I still don’t approve but for the reasons given and not because I don’t want us to declare war on India

                                Thank you Citizens of Concordia!
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
