Anyway, I replied to the first email I got from you about Civ selection, after I sent out that I needed everything resent. I'm sorry if I didn't get an earlier one. I did post on the boards that I needed your info, that should have gotten a quicker response too.

You know, all that matters, though, is that I got it now and I got one from everyone. So now the game can run.

Seriously, a nice little post with all game settings, links to all the teams, the info who they're playing, and etc would be great, and could replace a topped thread or two.

Then we could maybe get a little news article (I'm looking at you, team Apolyton...) linking to such a post declaring the game is starting, and maybe even get some more players to join some teams.

I didn't realize it was such a secret now the decisions are already made. Especially with the whole game being set up for early contact to begin with.

Just pointing out that a little news update and some info to the public at large will only increase interest in the game as a whole.

Anonymous player settings won't work anyway. Since this is Pitboss, you'll see all the civs in the login screen, which I think would render that setting obsolete. Plus some teams have already mentioned what civ/leader they will have.

Let's hear the complete list of which team is what civ/leader.

I can't remember tfor the life of me anytime we didn't do that at APOLY, or in any of the multisite ISDG's, both CIV III and CIV IV.

This game is going to be fast and furious by demogame standards.

The list ahead of time will help us manage the increased tempo of information flow.

Our OODA loop is going to have to be a lot faster this time. (Elucidus should know what OODA is being an Air Force guy)

And ditto what UnO said, it should go into the APOLY announcement that game started and someone may say hey those guys are playing the Celts, maybe Ill apply to that team. The amount of folks we have playing right now is on the low end and marginal IMHO for the long term viability of this game. Again just MHO BUT more players are always a good thing, and in this case I think almost a necessity.

I just thought it might add a little more to the game, to not know exactly what to expect. Not be able to plan every aspect of every little thing in advance. Especially if the anonymous thing were turned on. OODA would still apply, you just would have as much info to do it with.

But God forbid you do anything different from every other demogame going on.

Well you all seem like thats what you want, so after the game is set up I'll post the information. I only asked a simple question. And I asked it for your consideration, because I thought it might add a fun element to the game. It doesn't matter to me either way, so lets not all pounce on little Luc all at once, eh?

I agree it would make the game more "interesting" but I think the benefits outweigh the interesting factor.

In any case I hope my post above was NOT interupted as "pounce-ing on Eluc", I was just trying to deliver my thoughts on why it would be better to release IMHO. If that did happen my apologises, my delivery should have been better

And the bottomline for me is really UnO's arguement, if that brings us one more demogamer, its all worth it.
