I like Elucidus' idea. It would add a new layer of fog to the game.
And I don't think it will discourage in any way potential new diplogamers. I think the team name and public personna of that team - ie the goonies, or the dutch scientist, or those crazy scot/welsh folks that are more likely to attract new players.
But... I also don't think it would work in pitboss - at least I am not sure it would.
