I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

So to confirm - the start is archaepelago? Correct?
Keygen, you also mentioned snaky continents, which in my understanding, is a different map all together. Snaky continents is the continent setting with high sealevel. Great map - but still means contact without galleys/caravels. Arch means something else altogether.
Can you confirm please. Thx!
Each team will get one continent that with 60% sea/ocean can accommodate 8-10 cities each. We can decrease the sea level to 50% and have a little more room and optionally add a few small islands here and there.

Ok - I am easy either way. But the snaky continents thing did look good. Some early contact - and yet lots of shoreline as well.
If we stick with separate continents/islands setup, I would not go below 60% on sea level. Otherwise the first part of this game is going to be bit of a bore - with everyone growing on their own island.
The snaky continents thing sort of shook it up a bit. I tried a number of test starts with the proposed setup, and met at least two other civs in the first 20 turns or so. That seems good for diplomacy and team interraction.
Was there a problem from the map makers/admin end regarding the snaky continents map? ie - did one civ shoved into the arctic, or completely isolated?Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war .... aw, forget that nonsense. Beer, please.
