  • Well, razing "The Warning" was like Achilles' Heel. Took PAL out in one blow. Not game-wise but ego-wise. (Hope that makes sense)

Banana capturing Elephantine, Rabbits capturing Eisenburg are just sad jokes. Similar to what we have done to Imperio the last few turns, but much, much worse, as Imperio would have been toast anyway.

    • Yeah, this game is over. Maybe sunrise or I will log in one final time to eliminate Imperio, but that's it.

When a single crossbow walks up to an enemy core city and captures it, you can't take things seriously anymore. At this point, it's like serving tennis balls into an empty court. What's the point?

      • The point is that Rabbits still have every right to play to a conclusion if they so desire. If we quit and deprive them of that, we're no better than PAL ourselves. We'd be rightfully screaming if somebody decided we were too irrelevant to be allowed to play on. I'll play turnplayer myself if necessary to take the game to a conclusion of conquering Rabbits.

Banana also has the right to play for a win, although he's stated his disinterest. I think he still has a legit shot by conquering PAL and making a stand against RB. He does have Astronomy many turns before we will and all the boating advantages that entails. If we were in Banana's position, we'd certainly be going all-out in an effort to topple the current leader and go for a win.

        • I disagree. They are totally irrelevant in this game, and yes, that DOES matter. Forcing the other teams to play out another 100+ turns is completely pointless. For heaven's sake T-Hawk, did you see Banana walk a single crossbow up to PAL's core city and kill the warrior inside?!? Donovan doesn't want to play anymore. If PAL's quitting, our team has no interest either. Rabbits alone do not have the right to drag out the game further.

Please, let's kill off the zombie corpse that this game represents. Honestly, it's making a mockery of what we worked so hard to accomplish.

By the way, I rather suspect that Rabbits are just screwing around with us for kicks. Considering that they spend all of 5 minutes on their turns, and conduct no diplomacy with anyone, I don't think they have a leg to stand on.

          • I think you both miss the point.
Its not the single Xbow attacking the city (after all that was roughly what happened to The Warning, a nice little commando-style strike). It is the fact that Donovan decided to keep the city, in full knowledge that he will have all the time in the world to secure it against a paralysed opponent.

When we quit, we press "Retire" and the AI takes over. Rabbits will have a challenging game against an RB AI opponent.
And I agree, that Rabbits or anyone else for that matter has the right to continue.

I consider this game dead, because we played with no AI take overs for IMperio and PAL for too long now.

            • I think Sullla and M_H are right that the game is effectively dead. However, since T-Hawk and I have both expressed a desire to continue playing if Rabbits wish to as well does anyone have a problem with us humoring them?

I'll play tomorrow, I think I will be back in DC from Atlantic City in time. I know I missed the 24 hour window, but if Krill is still lurking, is that really a problem versus virtua-Imperio?

I will also boot Imperio and PAL tomorrow in hopes that that forces AI takeover. I'll even boot Imperio before I move so that we don't get any unfair advantages.

              • Rabbits said they would quit in the disputes thread. He said he played this turn to "try something out".

                • If we do have to play this out, let's just turn on research now, get Astro from Banana, whip a couple Galeons, and put Rabbits out of their misery in two dozen turns. With PAL gone, there is no long term, but if people are interested, there is one more operation to plan: finishing the game in as few turns as possible. (I am sure Banana will resign as soon as we conquer Rabbits, so we just need to plan the optimal way of doing that.)

                  • The game is over - banana and rabbits voted to stop playing.

                    • Since the game is officially over, and with our sentry horse archer at only 80-odd percent versus a warrior:

                      Which means: Operation Bloodbath Complate

                      • Hooray, hooray. Long live Team RB.

Now, lets leave this place and go back to RB and CFC.

@ sunrise: Can you as host access the game in a way to post a fully revealed map? Would be interesting to see what features (yes, lets call them features) the new world holds.

                        • Hey, I've been wondering for awhile, why exactly is there an "extra" PAL team on civstats? How exactly did that happen?

That's a good question! The 7th team is Gathering Storm, who Krill was leading but dispanded before the game even started. The map was altered after this happened but the extra civ wasn't removed from the worldbuilder file. When the game started PAL tried to log in as them (no, no idea why). They didn't have a password set up yet so managed to log in but then the game must have booted them because their initial units had been deleted from the map when they retired.

Did that affect tech costs for the entire game?

                              • Is this game still going ... because we just got an email saying that the turn timer had rolled over. If it is over, do we have an official list of places?
