Heh, I was going to make this exact suggestion; since we're not currently in Bureaucracy, it's a good time to focus on food accumulation in Airstrip One. That sooooo, he's always one step ahead of me!

Other points... I know the rationale that we're worried about an unhappiness effect from defying an AP resolution, but shouldn't we work the best tiles at Pink anyway? A bigger city is always better than a smaller one, right? We can just whip away the excess population if necessary. I'd like to recommend us working the 5 food rice tile there. We'll also have a forge completing for extra happiness shortly.

We probably want to get the riverside grassland hill tile (which Templars pillaged) reconnected at Pink soon, and cottage the remaining river grassland tiles. (I know that the current non-river cottage going up there is a "free" turn of worker movement.) Just a reminder for sooooo and his worker planning.

Do we really want the Islamic monastery in Bluebell? I feel like we might be able to find a better option there. Any thoughts?

EP spying suggests Banana is building a wonder in their capital. Wonder what they could be up to...

    • @Sullla: If you're currently logged in, could you tell us what templars and PAL just traded?

      • Yep, saw something was up on CivStats and logged in to check it out. Well, it's not good news for us, although it is what you'd expect. Templars researched Drama (the one cheap tech that PAL never got from us) and traded it to them for Nationalism, in one of those crazily uneven trades that the runaway team can pull.

Templars have already revolted to Nationhood civic! (Although why they didn't also swap to Slavery civic is beyond me.)

Now there are two things that will fortunately mitigate the drafting that Templars can do. First, they have zero happiness resources (not a single one!) connected, and even Hereditary Rule civic can't compensate for draft unhappiness for long. I don't think we have to worry about them attacking out of their cities, due to crippling unhappiness concerns if they do. Secondly, their cities are barely over the minimum draft requirement (size 6), and won't be able to sustain many conscripts. Jerusalem is only size 7. Nevertheless, this is not good news for us, as it allows Templars to fall on their own sword and do more damage to our team in the process of taking them out.

The only good thing I noticed is that Imperio still hasn't logged into the game as yet. They have 13 more hours to do so, but if they miss this turn as well, we will probably have to say something in the General Forum.

        • Templars got a renaissance tech, while PAL got a classical tech.

Agreed, done. I thought the unhappiness would show up this turn but I guess not.

Yep. I want one worker to hang around Pink Dot to be ready for if we need a combat engineer. Presumably if Imperio capture Constantinople then we need 3 workers on hand to road that desert tile outside Jericho to hit the city. The other worker around there I'd like to send down to our new jungle city. That would make 2 workers down there which should be enough for now.

We also have workers being made at SF and CB. The one at CB I think needs to head to Upper Burgundy to improve the tiles there.

Will give some more complete worker suggestions later.

Do we really want the Islamic monastery in Bluebell? I feel like we might be able to find a better option there. Any thoughts?
Hmm. Bluebell is pure commerce and is very close to the capital so doesn't need a courthouse. However, I suppose by the time the monastery becomes valuable then it will expire. Maybe we should start it on a bank. It's an expensive build, but will pay off for us in the long-term. A plan could be a hand-build a bank and then whip a university in time for A1 to start oxford.

EP spying suggests Banana is building a wonder in their capital. Wonder what they could be up to...
              Maybe Globe Theatre?

Those were the only 3 I could think of off the top of my head. We'll get plenty more Oromos so I'm sure the Bushes will get to feature later.

I am not so sure we will actually get the hit, as I am not sure a majority will vote for ending the war.

                      • Horay, Imperio accepted our wines for gold deal

Any more opinions on the bank/monastery/market/grocer/other at Bluebell? I have it on bank atm.

Suggested worker actions for those without a task:

John the Savage moves onto the jungle rice at to-be-named jungle city (after Parsons finishes his road obv)
Bob the Builder finishes the cottage on the tile he is standing on.

                        That's it!

Right. Since things have calmed down a bit I didn't both to cancel worker actions. I'll start doing so again if I foresee the need for urgent military engineers.

                          • I like the bank build at Bluebell, sooooo. Banks take a while to build, but they have one of the best shield-to-multiplier payoffs for commerce cities. Certainly much better than markets/grocers if you have enough happy/health resources.

No other suggestions, but yay at Imperio accepting our trade deal! (Some 4 days after we proposed it, heh.) Let's send them another message talking up our new cooperation and asking them to Close Borders with PAL. And ask them when they are going to declare on Templars.

                              • I logged in for a quick peek to get some of our questions from last turn answered.

                                The results from the vote:

Imperio is keeping with their word. Rabbits on the otherhand... I think we should cancel our gift. And sure enough, the has appeared in PD:

And the wonder that Banana was building? They completed it this turn, and I'm thankful that the wonder went to our ally rather than an enemy.

I set CT, which finished its catapult, to Research, so keep in mind to switch it.
