Just imagine where we would be without iron, Guilds, money loans, etc. We have definitely gotten the better end of our dealings thus far. Let's just hope that we can come to Banana's aid when they are inevitably attacked by PAL down the road.

We'd like to confirm your earlier proposal to trade Banking & Gunpowder for Astronomy. We can't really give a meaningful ETA on Astro at this stage: first priority is to pay you back the gold you kindly leant us, and then we need to wait until our next Great Person is born. We could find a good use for a low-odds Artist, but it wouldn't help our tech rate much! Speaking of Great People, it would be great if you could give us Banking up front: a spell in Mercantilism would be a major boost to our economy, as well as speeding our next GP.

Moving to something mentioned in your chat with m-h, we're not going to get our hands on a second source of horses in the very short term: Jerusalem's culture is too strong. Nonetheless, we'll try to give you horses as soon as we can, and certainly no later than T154.

Things are likely to be interesting for a while over here: Templars have to respond to losing Jericho, and Imperio might be tempted to strike with their mega-stack, assuming (wrongly) that we're neglecting Cape Town's defence. With a bit of luck, we'll also land Taj Mahal in a few turns.

How are things between you and PAL? Any signs of them renewing your NAP without it being tied to an alliance against our team? And how about Rabbits: they've got some decent land, but do you think we can sponsor them to become a relevant player?

I am slightly worried that the PAL-banana deal has not gone through despite both of them logging in a few times. I hope PAL aren't holding back the money until banana make a deal. I was going to delay asking for banking until their deal went through, since we have no immediate need for the tech for a few turns.
