    Realms Team,

I have an idea. Since you will want to time your use of Iron for the our discovery of Gunpowder, I'd like to take it back for the next 10 turns. Let me know what you think of this; we wouldn't need Horses right away, it seems.

Please let me know before the end of this turn if possible.

    Regards,
    Donovan
    Hi Donovan,

I'm afraid we can't hand back Iron right now without it causing us major problems: we're training Knights. We should have less need for it once Gunpowder is in as Oromos don't require a resource. We'd like to keep to our suggestion to hand over Iron & Horses on T154.

If you want Iron in the short term, you might try to approach Rabbits: they have some, but lack the techs to train useful units with it. We're also speaking to them about the possibility of them trading it to us (so we can give yours back earlier than T154).

    Best Regards

      • Our next message to Banana should ask them (if possible) to get line of sight into Thebes and Elephantine so we can track the Taj more reliably .

        • I sent the following follow-up for our loan. Sorry m_h, I forgot about your request until after I hit the Send button. I'll include it in a later email.

          Hi Donovan,

Just a quick follow-up email for the 120g loan I proposed in an earlier email to get nationalism a couple of turns earlier (for both of us ).

We could do with it this turn if possible. If you can't spare the cash then we'd like to know soonish, thanks.

          • The good news is that Banana offered 120g. The bad news us that I managed not to accept it so I offered it to him instead. Sorry about that.

              Another email sent to banana:

Ugh, we're really sorry Donovan, but someone who logged in for our team managed to turn down your gold loan. He is suitably embarrassed and re-offered the deal. Thanks for your patience!

              • I feel like we should send something to our allies Banana, letting them know about PAL's recent spike in power

                Comment

                • First, assuming PAL keeps their NAP Banana still has like 20 turns left or something, don't they? I'd think PAL will smash the Rabbits first.

Second, what can we really say to Banana? We can suggest they prioritize military techs, but their tactical situation is simply atrocious.

                  • The PAL-Banana NAP ends on T160 IIRC. And we certainly don't want to point out how hopeless his military situation is.

                      • If things go our way, they'll be hearing about our capture of Jericho next turn. Then we should update on the Iron situation, seeing as he'd like it back.

                        • We'll we'll have our own iron if we take Jericho, no?

                          • Is there *anything* that they can do to at least hold off against PAL?

                            Comment

                            • They can take that central city that borders 5 of their cities while PAL is hitting the Rabbits I guess

Otherwise they just have to accept losses. If they slave and draft muskets like crazy they can make it painless for PAL in an long-game, but there's no way they can stop PAL from at least taking some cities.

                              • Well do we want to write something to Banana (at some point) detailing this, and talking about what they can do to minimize the pain? Or to start preparing for taking otu that gem city of PALs while they're busy with Rabbits?

Or do we worry that this kind of doom and gloom will make Donovan just lose interest in playing?
