I glanced at the graphs last night and their GNP is only marginally better than Rabbits; probably a contributing factor in their decision to cosy up to Imperio. I would suspect that the 25g they are sending North every turn is the majority of their income; I doubt they'll research anything themselves anymore.
We believe we lost intercontinental trade routes because of the war starting. We won't get them back until we sign a peace deal or we get astronomy.
We have decided to get drama and will have it in 2 turns. We can give it to you then. After guilds what are you researching, paper? We can do a drama for paper trade if you like.
Instead of an incense gift from you we can just make a permanent dyes for incense trade. We do not need gems currently as we are getting them from PAL.

Hmm, Banana said they would have incense in 3 turns (now 2). I imaginged we would make the dyes for incense trade then when we had our third dyes hooked up on that turn.
We agreed to make the deal with PAL this turn (T136). We will have to explain to them that we now cannot do so or we will have to take a hapiness hit for 2 turns.
I believe its just 1 more turn until we hook up our 3rd dye.

I rather please Banana than PAL at the moment (PAL already gets our juicy trade routes). If they cancel the ivory deal for one turn (which they won't, I believe), that should be fine, as we have no phants lined up for now, iirc.

Post Banana Incense / Dye trade - happiness +1
Cancel PAL Phant / Marble Trade - Happiness normal
Gift Dye to PAL - Happiness -1
Receive Phant from PAL - Happiness normal
Happiness +1 when our dyes come back on-line.
Summary: Lose Dyes, Gain Incense - no impact on happy.
Do we have any cities that are at max happy and about to grow?
Edit: I think we email PAL and say that there was a bit of a wrinkle in recent resource trades and we have managed to trade away our spare Dye. However, a promise is a promise and we will trade our soul source of Dye to PAL and eat the happiness penalty for a few turns. Our mistake, so we should suffer the penalty.

We think that Pal have decided to get off the fence and take sides in the Western Continent war ... and not on our side. You'll have noticed their recent trade with Imperio - pretty one-sided - and we had made them a much better offer. Now they have cancelling our Ivory supply after pretence of negotiation.
