I was thinking of the initial vote. Archi would have won that with no need for the run off vote.
    Anyway ...

From the new polls out today, I definitely prefer simultaneous turns over ordered turns.

For the resources, then I think I like standard.

        Cylindrical wrap, balanced, simultaneous.

If it isn't simultaneous, I'd suggest dropping out of the game - in order to provide a decent amount of time for a team to play, the turn length would have to be ridiculously long.

I concur with sunrise. If the game won't be using simultaneous turns, we should seriously rethink being a part of this enterprise. Eight teams, playing one at a time, will take... just short of forever to get anywhere. Hopefully it won't come to that.

I am a little conserned that only two teams met the deadline for the first round of polls, but hopefully activity will pick up once the game gets going.

That tells me that interest is already rapidly fading. As I said weeks and weeks ago, you have to start these things (or at least make discernible progress towards starting!) to hold players and teams together. An endless series of polls and "waiting for the patch", which may or may not ever show up, is not going to cut it.

I really want to like this game, if only they would jettison the cr@p and get started!

From the most recent posts, it seems the delays were more a question of a lack of consensus and organisation from the other teams, than a lack of interest in the process.

Does anybody know what Krill meant by his comment "Congratulations on breaking the game due to colony mainentance"? (I thought spinning off colonies actually reduces maintenance costs.)

Well, it seems it worried him enough to resign from the game.

I think he means that without vassal states then colony maintence doesn't exist.

His posts are a bit combative, I think he's just a bit of a testy character. Maintenence can be handled by state property or just not being stupid in founding lots of overseas cities you can't afford. Or creating a colony.

There is some sense to Krill's post, but his team voted for torroidal wrap which would have cranked up maint horribly, so it seems he got the hump when the vote didn't go the way he wanted.

I'll be back home later today...

I talked with Krill, he said that he had no desire to play with AIs, hence his disappointment when vassals were enabled.

I can cover this role until mid-December, unless we have any other volunteers...
