  • Turn 131 - 400 AD

I logged in to take a look ingame, and encountered a few diplomatic screens.
Took a screenshot of them, so check them out in the attachment.

't looks to me that the 50 /tech from Realms Beyond is a better offer at the time.

I also have the impression we have plenty of military now to defend border cities. I think its time to start creating buildings and workers, and take out that remaining barb city northeast of the iron plot. We should for sure put cottages on the trade resources of the first barb city we conquered.

We will not have 200 gold before Christmas

I still think we should have some swords in our cities, started sword in Diggers and Caerbannog, started walls in the new city (Eisenburg).

Cottages will not give access to the resources, fort will but not before we have the necessary tech.
Think we should take barb city next.

I know that, but a cottage on a trading resource gives a commerce boost from the moment it is constructed on said resource, thus increasing our income. Besides, it's going to take ages before we have the necessary tech to put plantations on those resources. Better to have some kind of improvement on it then nothing.

Swords? Apart from the barb city, are we going to be in a position to attack cities in the forseeable future???

RE: The Barb city - I'd advise keeping it as a training ground, so we can get some battle hardened troops for our campaigns against PAL......

I checked on the game, and I agree with Zoid's choice for a civic change. We're borderline on the happiness department in two cities, and all those archers will serve a good purpose then.

Viking, please don't step down. This is what the democracy game experience is supposed to generate.

You post what you think should happen and other people post their take on the situation. The majority decision wins (in a true democracy) or can be weighted slightly if you (as turn player) favour one opinion or the other, or one persons expertise or the other.

Believe me, I have learnt so much from playing DG's in the past, and continue to do so now with my new DG team-mates in The Rabbits........

Again, Viking please don't step down. You are doing a great job as turn player and have really revived my personal interest in the game. Thank you.

OK, I agree in the change to hereditary rule, but why should we build an archer more in Caerbannog instead of a sword? Should we try to get peace with Pal or should we build an army strong enough to beat them? There are two barb cities around should we take them and keep them or raze them?

The game has been paused by Templars.

Well, all those archers have a downside too: support cost. We simply don't generate any sort of commerce anymore due to the cost of supporting our troops.

I therefore propose to put two workers and most of our archers in Diggers Burrow (move most of the Caerbannog garrison to Diggers Burrow), let at the onset of our turn the workers build a road towards the forest spot where the PAL Great Maceman is and throw 10 or so archers at the 3 units there in a bit to destroy them. And continue until those 3 units are dead. This deprives PAL of a GG, increases the amount of XP necessary to get a new GG and gives us enough support room to train more up-to-date units like catapults and swords/axes. As on the archer in Caerbannog, IF we're gonna throw most of them at some PAL units, its a mere replacement then for the lost units.

As on the stepping down part. Next weekend is most likely impossible for me to take over since I'm probably on a short trip, and 2 months after that my main vacation starts so...

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.
