As previously stated, I am playing the turns based on the majority decision. There is NO weighting based on forum activity, reputation, or previous multiplayer experience.

I'm also concerned with our lack of soldiers; but,
      1) Barbs threat to our cities is gone;
      2) It's not possible to arm ourselves without good ability of our
      cities.
      3) It looks better to build axes and spears than to build warriors and
upgrade. Have we the time to? I think yes.
      4) Last, if you love the whip, so you must the pigs.
      Best regards,

        Best regards,
        fed is wise.

Still, last time I asked around the majority was against switching to the whip system. That's the main reason that Monument in Diggers Burrow is still under construction, UnO.

I have never used the whip but that could be because I always play as the Vikings and with half priced barracks it is easy to build a good army of berserks.

Let's get out some good axmen fast, and remove those PaL cities before they get an army.

I understand the monument first in DB. I'm not questioning that, though it's not my personal style. I get majority rules.

My concern is the screen from last turn listed it at 2 turns to completion. THIS screen should therefore list 1 turn to completion, no?

I DO oppose the monument first in the new city, more especially so if we have archery. THAT city is far flung and bordering PAL. It needs defense before it needs culture.

That's why I would build an archer AND send the second warrior over there to be extra super safe until those axes can start marching.

In fact I hope its an unwarrented risk, not that I want Rabbits to be attacked, but my interest in multi depends on warfare as not a rare interaction.
In multi player, you get a variety of folk from the more peaceful to the more aggressive. In true multi, there is a subset of players who nearly exlusively rush, and those that nearly exclusively build, but the vast majority play somewhere in between.

Demogames, however, "rushing" tends to happen later than it would in pure multiplayer, and with higher numbers. More of a sledgehammer approach than a real 'rush'.

In our given situation, it's highly unlikely for PAL to attack soon enough to take advantage of our low numbers. They are also focusing on expansion and building, by the looks of the power graph, (and it's smart for them to attempt to land grab before being sandwiched between two teams) and what's more, they know we'ld just tell Banana their ass end is wide open if they moved troops towards us.

THAT all doesn't dissuade my belief we need more troops. ESPECIALLY since we don't need to worry about barbs, OR any neighbors other than PAL, we may as well start harrassing and choking quicker.

I also disagree that it "looks better to build axes than to build warriors and upgrade". Because it LOOKS more innocent to build warriors and not drive the power graph through the roof.

Building axes outright is like waving a banner declaring that we're gearing up for invasion in the faces of our intended targets.

Upgrading allows much more surprise, which would make an early choke more powerful.

But maybe this team wants to trade with PAL longer than I was thinking.

IIRC, we don't have Archery yet.
And looking at the stats, I'm starting to think we NEED a tech partner against the 3 civs on the other continent.

What we need, is to make a firm decision on a couple things:

1: Are we going to set up a 3 team continent alliance, or a 2 team one?

Do we trade with PAL, or kill them, essentially. Letting them take over Banana doesn't really do much for us.

If we're NOT going to trade with both, we should be working on Banana relations more than we are PAL. And, we should be prepping to mutilate PAL.

If we ARE going to be trading with both, tell me to shut up with all the military wackiness.

2: Cottage economy or specialist economy?

Cottage economy, we NEED to start making, and working some YESTERDAY. Specialists, we NEED libraries and many more cities ASAP.

                3: Which wonders to target?

Oracle? Pyramids? Neither? etc. We may as well get the stone a workout.

                4: Religion Yes/No?

No matter WHICH we choose on any of those, we need boats in the water seeking out people. (the map was made to be contactable by galley, right?)

I would like to quote Teddy Roosevelt "Speak softly and carry a big stick", ie we choose the path of non-agression but we keep our bunny teeth sharpened and our furry ears to the ground.

                      to PLATO's post.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

You're not the only one, 't was quite buggy the last day. But luckily I had read before what the plan was and just executed it 8 hours from turnover.
