Do we keep off upgrading our warriors to axeman/spearman for the time being? If not, Warhammer should return to the citycross of Diggers Warren to upgrade him. It will take over 10 turns before there's a connection between Aachen and Diggers Warren.

Btw, how about renaming Aachen to "Outpost Hutches" or "Outer Hutches" or something like that?

As for the upgrading...

We REALLY need more firepower over there NOW. We can upgrade them after the first axe or two get over there or we get it connected, whichever comes first.

And if we have archery, I strongly suggest building an archer in the new town NOW before that monument.

As long as we're being all builderific, are there any of those silly religiosity doodads left to be founded?

UnO, how do you propose to make full use of the citycross if no culture-enhancing facility is in the city? Libraries take longer to build, you know...

I'm just saying maybe it shouldn't be the first thing out the door on a town far flung from our capitol on the border of hostile territory. Yes, I see by the power graph that it's unlikely we'll be attacked. I don't care. Doesn't mean troops aren't usefull.

I've repeatedly mentioned how I personally feel we should build USEFULL things (sorry, monuments are not usefull right at this moment. Pointy things are) and then POP the monuments at first opportunity multiple times. In DB, presently, our 3rd pop will work a less than stellar tile. He may as well be popped towards SOMETHING, for instance. I would have personally planned the monument to be at that point. Yes, it would have delayed border growth by roughly 4 turns if my math is right. But, we would have had more troops (or boats) at the same time.

However, on the subject of libraries...we WILL be needing libraries sooner rather than later. With rapid expansion, a focus on the lower tree, and no gold producing resources tapped, our tech rate is going to be abysmal. Libraries and scientists do provide a solution.

(as does the Oracle in the short term, and I'm going to assume it has been at least discussed given our stone/hammer centric start? Can I assume we are planning to chop it out in builderific fashion rather soonish? )

And, again, if there were one of those religiosity thingies left to found, that could cover the culture needs rather quickly for our builderific selves. And they don't even expire...

I'm strongly for pointy things as well, but I do consider that it's quite impossible for me to do moves and those who do the moves should logicly get a greater say. I really appreciate what Rob and Geo are doing...

For me military is essential, but I'm new to multi.

Nice to have cultural expansion as well.

In my single player games my cities rarely sit empty and my gut tells me its an unwarrented risk. In fact I hope its an unwarrented risk, not that I want Rabbits to be attacked, but my interest in multi depends on warfare as not a rare interaction.
