I'm glad that the last message was apparently a mistake. When you said 28 turns from Writing (and Writing comes before Alphabet,) some of my brethren thought you were not honoring our reserach agreement. I said it was clearly a mistake. We have been distracted by that for a few turns. Now hopefully we can get back on the path and resume our pusuit of Monarchy. For we had been pursuing Monarchy.

We would like to propose a renewal of our peace treaty at this time for an additional 20 turns. This will bring us to turn 92. I almost feel the need to apolgize for this length of treaty. At this time our political cycle corresponds to the length of treaty. I am lobbying strongly for this friendship and hopefully one day a full fledged alliance. I am optimistic that next time around the length of treaty will be substantially changed.

Once tech trading commences we would be open to a lower tech trade of Agriculture and Pottery for Hunting and Animal Husbandry (assuming the tech list you sent us back in August hasn't substantially changed.)

In the area of cutting edge tech we personally have a strong interest in Code of Laws as it ties to our unique building. Maybe a Code of Laws-Currency exchange would be worth discussing (with the exact beakers to be figured out if the general idea is agreed to.)

Roads and trade are great. Our luxuries are a little further away because of tech requirement but when they are online we are all for it.

Problems are rising over the horizon.

PAL started to commit 9 /turn towards us. This means that in 2 turns at most we won't be able to see their research anymore. That tells us they spent about 30-40% of their GNP on on us alone.

We're also about 2 turns away from being able to see Banana's research.

So, what do we do? Let this happen to us and let PAL know we're researching IW in a few turns? Counter their points point for point? Call upon PAL with our proof (of their lies) to defuse this situation here and now and give them a chance to become honorable partners again (which means we need to switch to Monarchy).

I'll give the graphic explanation in the turn 71 thread later today.
