  • Good Wabbits or Bad Wabbits?

I always think it is a good idea, in a Demo game, to have some over-riding concept on how we want to play the game.

Are we a peaceful team aiming for a culture victory?

Do we want to grind the faces of our enemies under the heels of our jackboots?

Obviously nothing set in stone - but a general idea of where we are headed - not something which would stop us from reacting to any situation we find ourselves in - or the resources we have etc.

I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

As my prefered play style is reasonably well known (I think) - it will be no surprise how I voted - but some discussion would be cool.

I think we should try and play a strong diplo game - form a strong early alliance with a like minded team - share techs/resources etc openly - and together go and kick the ****e out of the rest of the teams.

I think we should be like our namesakes. Cute and cuddly. Expanding like rabbits. Friendly with those who are friendly to us. Allow our diplomatic skills to win us friends. Our pervasive rabbit culture (people do worship our feet) to become legendary. Our prodigious intellect to take us to the stars and beyond.

The minute somebody messes with us we rip out their throats.
Yes, negotiations could take some time.

My main stuff is in diplo too, though there's a tendency in my play for the rare sneak attack on those who stick out too much of the bushes.
I guess the latter doesn't fit with the "cuddly" aspect of the Wabbits.

I wouldn't put a desire to form a strong alliance in stone yet if we go for the diplo route. The impression I got from at least half the other teams forming out there (Gathering Storm and Eirich Tuireann) is agressive. From the rest I don't know enough to give them a rating one way or the other, though the members of Team Banana strikes me the most in favour of trading. Unfortunately I really hate the teamname.

I suggest an early defensive stance heavy on the archers when we get them. Figure our desired borders and modify that concept according to what pops up, copper, iron & horses wise. Do our best to build border cities on hills.

We could see if we can starve a border state of something they need and then feed it to him, even for free at times to build good will at first and then later based on good behavior, ie joining us in carving up some sucker.

Much of this is concieved from single player however.

I'm liking Chuckman's plan, and Nugog's posted concept is much like mine. Think we're on the same page here so far.

Geomodder is the most aggressive so far and that's good, we need someone who is looking to keep our border states scared straight and defending. Don't let them put too much into offensive ability. Taking an early city if it's ripe can give us a rep that will serve well.

As I see it, two different points:

              1) War or peace style - I just have no preference about,as I like both.

              2) Diplomacy - Is it possible true agreements in MP like they are in
SP? That is, for instance, peace treaty for 10 turns makes impossible
an attack? If not, as I think, then our decision about the previous
care less, since we need to be always prepared to war, even when
wanting peace. (Like the old Romans).

              Best regards,

to peaceful bunnies multiplying like wabbits
to anyone who hurts our wabbit colonies getting swarmed by wabbit warriors

My style tends to be expand peacefully taking all due precautions, swarm the enemy with culture, and if he has a problem with that and takes the gloves off first... Overrun him. No excuses.

Yes, a diplomatic agreement (whether it be tech/gold trade or peace agreement or even outright extorsion) holds for 10 turns and cannot be broken during that time. Even Vassalage agreements seem to work in MP, something I recently discovered to my delight.

Then we need to be ready for them - if they turn out to be near us.

And without Fed in their team, and with their performance in the C4DG - they have painted a huge target on themselves. But having said that Fed and I do know most of the team.

It doesn't matter to me, though personally I'm not much of a warmonger.

From the sound of it there's a grudge from another game?

No - not really - it's just that - well - they made some really sucky decisions gamewise - and were very gullible when it came to diplomacy.

So - no grudge at all - no bad feelings between us and them - not at all.
