Oh, no hurries.

We got 31" of snow yesterday, it'll be several months before I can start building.

But I'll trade you my son's grammar problems for your son's math problems. (SUCKED at English)

It's not unheard of, but it was a sizeable storm. Hell the liscense plates read "Greatest Snow on Earth".

I'm up the mountain a bit, and at the mouth of a canyon, so we get hit especially hard, compared to those valley folk. So, yes, the news reported the valley got 18". A good, heavy storm, but far from the record.

The ski resorts reported 35-40" for this storm, by comparison.

We have a weatherhawk in the backyard, the neighbors have a weatherbug. They both recorded 31" storm total.


(Here's a dumb fact. I actually considered being a meteorologist once upon a time...Even put some study into it, and can read the maps better than most the TV folk's "Models" they use. But, my face is perfect for radio, as it were. )

Good, keep the snow coming for two more weeks please. Heading to Snowbasin, Powder Mountain, and Alta for the first time. Gotta stick it to my acquaintance who just skied in Japan and said they had the best powder in the world.

Bad news,

todays storm came in the form of RAIN. And, I could see to the top of the mountain out our front door this morning, with means the resorts are likely getting rain, or that heavy wet snow instead of powder today.

Supposed to continue through tomorrow with several smaller storms every day this week.

Snow supposed to start again next week.

I presume most of us have now realised that the old management of Apolyton has gone, though I still notice 'staff and other titles' still appended to some. Most importantly DanQ (co founder, with MarkG, of 'poly) has stepped down.

Robert Plomp (formerly Cybershy) and Jeroen Schweitzer are now the new owners and management .
