Guys, let me know if you have any connection issues. I needed to re-arrange my desk area for a visit by the in-laws, and though I managed to move the game server PC around without ever turning it off I did have to power down the modem and router for a few minutes. Sorry if anyone couldn't connect during that time.

Currently experiencing a comcast cable outage guys. I took a save and will reload if the Internet doesn't return in time for imperio and pal to play.

Ok, well work ran late and I got delayed getting home to pause the game. I managed to pause it...with 8 seconds left. I can't imagine Imperio will be happy with 8 seconds even with the ability to issue orders when the game is paused, so I will reload from the 14-hours-to-go save I took in an hour or so unless I see any objections.

Here is my position: We've not heard from Imperio, so we have no way of knowing if they plan to play this turn or not. I wish they had commented last night or at least today, but that's another issues. I'd prefer not to reload and make all of the rest of us wait. At the same time obviously my connection was down for several hours, and if Imperio did intend to play during that time then I am happy to accommodate them.

If Imperio had logged in they would have said something; I understand the reason (and I agree, it's a good idea to pause it, but it is 1am in Spain), and the game was down for 6 hours. I think letting the turn roll is for the best (and sets a better precident IMO).

Are you saying it's okay to log in and unpause the game? Team Banana can play its turn tonight or tomorrow morning, and would be happy to get things started with your permission. Though I too am inclined to give Imperio a bit more time to respond, under the circumstances.

If all remaining 4 other teams are OK with giving a pause then I have no problem with a pause (I'll only rule if a unanimous decision is not forthcoming from the teams themselves). But for everyone to get together and make that decision is going to take longer than 6 hours, and Imperio are almost certainly not going to be playing in that time frame either...

Precident in this game is that no individual team can pause the game, so if you unpause it you aren't breaking the rules; if anyone logs in and unpauses it they aren't breaking the rules either...

After waiting for four hours and not hearing anything from Imperio, I have logged in and unpaused the game. There has been no login from Imperio for the past 54 hours, nor any comments here in this forum asking for a pause. I have followed Krill's official ruling above.

We will always be willing to pause the game if Imperio, or any team, needs additional time to play. But there needs to be a request of some kind here in the general forum. Otherwise, the game should keep moving.
