  • @Hercules: Thanks.

In other news, the game timer seems to be acting weird. We hit End Turn about 15 hours ago with 32 hours remaining on the clock. Yet now it says there is about 26 hours left on the clock. 15 hours of real-life time has equated to 6 hours of in-game time.

Someone must have pauzed the game.

EDIT: or not, I noticed the same thing with a few other games that Snoopy hosts.

      • Fairly minor point but I think a "Turn Thread" where teams at war with one another posted after finishing their "turn" to notify the other teams of hte end of "turn" would be useful (email notification instead of relying on civstats). Also useful to me (but obviously that is a minor point...I even said so earlier!)
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

        • RB could do that if Templars and Imperio agree.

From our perspective, Templars are always free to play after the pitboss clock hits 32 hours to go or we hit end turn, whichever comes first. Sometimes we have been a bit late in actually hitting enter (we were 5 hours late this turn) but we will have moved/promoted/upgraded our units before the 32h mark. We will try to be better at this in the future and hit end turn before our 16 hours are up to speed the game along.

            • Templars - it appears that you have forgotten to hit End Turn. Could you please log in and do that so that the rest of the teams don't have to wait for the full 48 hours to complete. Thanks.

Nono, credit where credit's due: Imperio ended turn last turn after their moves.

                        • I am back today. I intend to spend this evening preparing, covering all the details like a dyndns account, port forwarding, and doing a clean reinstall of Civ and BTS and the 3.19 patch. I hope to take over within a day or two (although more travel came up and I'm away again over the July 4th weekend.)

                          • Er, I've got a problem. Trying to do a Civ 4 wipe and reinstall (my install has gotten cluttered up with lots of mods and edits and testing over the years), and my Civ 4 install disc isn't readable. The installer keeps throwing a CRC error.

Anybody know if there's a disc replacement available? Or just a cheap source for a fresh copy of Civ 4? (I don't need Complete, my BTS discs look to be fine.)

                            • It looks like there's some pretty cheap copies on the used section of amazon for vanilla civ.

Do you have a Dell? My dell was throwing CRC errors on civ4 disk too - copied the disk to HD on my laptop and copied it over to the Dell - install then went fine.
