To patch, or not to patch........

Looks like snoopy has been inactive on the forums since 1st June. Anyone have a plan?

IIRC, Snoopy wanted to stop hosting at some point. Maybe now would be a good time to do that?

The only offer I saw to provide hosting was RB's T-Hawk's.

Anyone else have any ideas for a solution that gets the game back up and patched?

I checked, and snoopy wanted someone to take over by 15 June though he didn't seem to follow up T-Hawk's offer AFAIK. I think we should email him seeing as he seems to be on a Poly hiatus.

While we send out a search & rescue party for snoopy, can just one member of PAL dual-install the old version of BTS again so we can keep playing the meantime?

We have all patched so dual install means uninstalling the game and installing again...no time fo rme to do this right now..I rushed to patch, should have double installed first

Not really. I can talk myself into pretty much anything.

Game unpaused so we could finish turn, then repaused.

Incidentally, I jumped the gun on the patch too, and then spent 30 minutes or so to uninstall and reload. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't agony either. Especially once I discovered that I could surf the net, make a sandwich and tidy up my workspace while waiting.

OK, no reply from emails to snoopy. What's the plan? RobWorham? Krill?

I presume we can't just transfer the game to another host without snoopy providing a save and a password.

I'm not sure, but I think anyone can login, take a save game, and rehost from that without having the admin password.

I think that's the case. I know that Zoid has done something similar for another game that Snoopy was hosting. Needed the uploader password to get civstats going again though....

T-Hawk has indicated in the RB forum that he is off on vacation until the end of June and so won't be able to pick up hosting until then. In the interests of our not sitting at the same point for the next two weeks, could someone in PAL please dual-install so that we can at least keep the game moving while we wait?
