I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. All he'd wanted were the same answers the rest of us want. Where did I come from? Where am I going? How long have I got? All I could do was sit there and watch him die.

I'd like them on as I enjoy them. There's already randomness in the game and everyone will have the same chance of getting good or bad events.

In case anyone is wondering why this is for Game 4 - Rob and I create the saves well in advance and play them (or in my case try and survive them ) to ensure they are appropriate.

i voted yes, but conditionally. if its going to be really intense game (like raging barbs + aggressive AI) i would say take them off- i distinctly remember one game where i was fending off 2 AIs and a random event blew up my only source of copper, causing me to be overrun. otherwise, i think they're benign enough that it shouldn't be a big deal.

While these games are nominally competitive I am only playing for fun so I think events could work out well.

I have heard that in a case like this where everyone is starting from the same save that the "deck" of possible events for the game is the same for everyone so it won't be radically random.

I voted yes, but I'm playing for fun, not to win. If I was playing competivily, than I would say no. I wouldn't mind winning, but just having fun is my main priority.

I voted yes, preparing for them and reacting to them is part of the strategy.

                hehe...

i voted no, they can be very irritating in my mind, especially at the start of the game

I voted yes, I like them. It helps with what Blake is always talking about in that to be good you have to be adaptable...

It is the standard "default" option on most polls here at Apolyton - it means abstain.

                        I vote no.

The more randomness involved, the greater chance of an individual game being effected by "luck." Over a series of contests any luck deviations would even out and better players will rise to the top.
Yes, negotiations could take some time.

I thought it was so a player from a different league could look at the results. It wouldn't be fair to vote yes or no in all 3 leagues would it?

This seems like a good argument for the 'yes' supporters.

No it is not ok to vote in different league polls.

But you will see that most polls on Apolyton have the banana option - it is sort like a tradition that really makes no sense - but we do it anyway.
