I am wrapping up a Monarch-level game on a standard map (standard settings across the board), and I happen to remember looking at the F3 screen right before I quit last night:
Total units: 255
The types I remember:
Mechanized Infantry: 60
Tanks: 68
Cavalry: 14 (all elite)
Keshiks: 1 (elite)
Swordsmen: 1 (elite)
Musketman: 1 (in army)
Archer: 1 (in army)
Spearman: 1 (in army)
Infantry: 2 (1 in army)
Battleships: 1
Destroyers: 5
Transports: 6
Armies: 8 (7 empty... just waiting for MA)
That's 169. I think I had roughly 45 native workers (never switched to Demo, cleaning pollution under republic w/a non-industrious civ is hell) plus, of course, a bunch of slaves. I have maybe 10-15 artillery pieces and about 10-15 Bombers.
That leaves me a bit short, so I must be forgetting something. But I'm sure of the 255 figure. I believe the date was around 1650.
